Finding The Right Fit

Some things that I consider in my college search.

Being a senior in high school is fun, but there is one thing that makes senior year very stressful… college. Most people take time during their senior year of high school to find the college that they would like to attend for the next couple of years. For many people the search for their dream college is based on what they want, which is the way it should be. If you pick a college with nothing you want then you will be very miserable, and you will probably end up transferring to a college with the things you want very quickly. In the end you will probably end up in a place that you love. When searching for your college you must think about the things you know will keep you satisfied at the college. In my case there are major things I look for in a college that will have a big impact on my decision of where I would like to go. The major things I look for in a college are: my major, price, football, campus feeling, and location.

A major that is right for you is something that all people should consider. It is something I have considered since I have begun my search. I have ruled out multiple colleges that I thought I may like just because they didn’t have my major. You also need to pick a major that you know you will love. If you don’t you can always switch, but that costs money. Picking a major that you know you will love is important, because you have to think if you wouldn’t like studying it through college then you definitely won’t like doing it for the rest of your life. Picking a major that is right for you may sound simple but in reality it is harder than it looks. It gets even harder finding colleges that have your major and all of your other preferences.

Price is another thing that all people should consider in their college search. You can’t just think college will be paid off right away, because that isn’t how it works. College costs money and a lot of it. Yes, there are scholarships that can bring the price of college down, and scholarships are great to have. Though scholarships are great you will still have to think about how much money you will owe to the college after you have already left. Some people don’t consider the price of school, and they end up paying for college many years after they have already graduated. If you ask me money is a huge deciding factor when choosing a college.

Unlike everyone else football is a big deciding factor of where I want to attend college. Though it may sound stupid football is very important to me and I would like to continue my football career for as long as I can. I want to be apart of a program that cares about me and prepares me for life after football. Football may sound like a dumb thing to consider for college but to me it is important.

Campus feeling and location are very important when choosing a college as well. When I think about campus feeling I think the campus needs to feel like home. If campus doesn’t feel like home then it probably isn’t for you. With that I also consider location and where is from my home. I want a college that feels like home while not being too far from home for my comfort. Campus feeling and location are very important things for me to consider.

I know the things that I am considering in my college search. I love the college search, but it is also a very stressful process. I look forward to college, and I know many other people are as well. I hope I find the college of my dreams and I hope other people do as well.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
