I am by no means a love guru, but I will say love does find you when you least expect it, even sometimes from people you don't expect it from. Honestly, in some ways that is how we find the best love that we could ever ask for and the person we know we want to spend the rest of our lives with.

Even more, sometimes it takes something to push for the relationship to become what it is meant to be and as great as it is meant to be. The circumstances aren't always ideal but that's when life gives us the best gifts we could ask for. I was lucky to have this happen to me.

Last year, I found out I was pregnant by a man I wasn't too fond of. It wasn't an ideal situation. We didn't know each other well and to be honest we didn't even like each other that much. However, alcohol can make even the worst of enemies friends.

Unexpectedly, this man stepped up to the task of helping me build a future for this child. Of course we started out getting to know each other and rather than the jerk that I thought he was, he turned out to be the opposite of every assumption I had made about him. As time grew and I got to know him, I realized he was everything I had been looking for and more.

I totally had a list of qualities I desired in a significant other and he just kept checking off boxes the more I got to know him. So of course, I fell in love with him and I still fall in love with him all the time. He is the most amazing father to our son, has stepped up to allow me to finish my degree, has made me feel beautiful even when I don't feel that way about myself, and has loved me through all of my ups and downs. I would have never expected any of this from this man when I had first met him and now I can't imagine my life without him.

That's the beauty of finding love in the most unexpected places. To discover that a person you thought you would never have to deal with again would become the person that you wanted to build a future with. The person who you want to have more children with and watch grow into an amazing father. I found mine through our son, but that doesn't have to be the case for every person out there.

All I am saying is that love will find you and it may not be from who you expect it to be. Never give up on love and all that it brings with it because it is worth it, every single day. My life has so much more joy and love now that I have this man and our son in my life. It is a beautiful thing that is worth the wait and the effort that it takes to make it everything that it is.
