One thing we can all relate to is stress.
On a day-to-day basis, stress can surmount to causing headaches and food cravings. Everyone has there own triggers that bring about there stress, but there is no doubt it is a part of life.
So how does one cope with stress?
1. Breathe
Think of yourself as someone who does yoga and take a big breath in, and then a big breath out. Feel free to repeat as many times as you deem necessary. By calming one's breathing, it allows the body to relax, thus relieving some stress.
2. Get a hobby
Find something you like to do like, go for hike, swim in a pool or even simply read a book. Allow yourself to have time for your hobby every so often in order to let yourself have fun.
This number could also be read as "Find your Passion." There has to be something that brings a smile to your face in your life. Something you might not do often, but on those occasions when you do, the time is relaxed. These moments may also be ones with friends and the ones you take pictures or videos of to remember.
3. Identify your triggers and avoid
Obviously, this one isn't all that easy, but at least take the first part in identifying the triggers. You may come to find some things are beyond your control and there is no reason to have them upset you. If you are lucky enough to be able to identify and then avoid, more power to you!
4. Make time for yourself
As we get older most of our time is spent working to pay the bills and/or caring for other people. Just make sure during any given day, week or month that you try to allow yourself some "me" time. It doesn't have to be long or even necessarily by yourself. The point is to give yourself some much needed down time.
5. Can you think of any?
Because stress is unique to each individual, feel free to consult the list provided above or create one catered to you. Nothing is too strange or weird when it comes to finding your own way to diminish your stress. A good place to start might be what you do on a daily basis. You may surprise yourself with what works for you!
Either way, the take away from this piece is that stress exists, find ways to alleviate the stress and live a more carefree life!
