The phrase “Moment of Peace” differs from person to person, as no one is the same. Whether you interpret the phrase as taking the time to take a breather from the crazy-busy life you live or just simply taking a second to listen to your favorite song or watch your favorite movie, when your worries and stress disappear while your heart catches up, that is your moment of peace.
Life is completely uncontrollable, as we never know what will happen next. Your life-plan may have originally seemed perfect, but can change as time goes on. You learn that it is beneficial to roll with life's punches as time slows for no one.
You're probably thinking to yourself, “Is it really possible to find a moment of peace amidst my chaotic life?" The answer should always be "yes" because when you take the time to take a step back and embrace every one of life's moments, big or small, you get the opportunity to reflect on how great life really is.
We college students have all experienced feelings of stress and pressure. We all want to be able to achieve and maintain good grades while balancing sports teams, social life and lengthy homework assignments. Unfortunately, many professors fail to realize that we're people too, and our lives as full-time students is just one big balancing act. On top of this lies the constant feeling of stress as to whether or not you'll be able to afford your semester tuition at the school you're attending. These worries run through everyone's minds, so don't think you're the only one!
What many of us don't notice is a lot of the stress and pressure we're under is brought on by ourselves. We set high expectations and goals that end up not being as attainable as we once thought they would be. It is best to remind yourself that quitting is not an option, and persevering through difficult circumstances will only make you feel better in the end.
It's best to stop and remind ourselves to breathe and believe in ourselves. Unfortunately, change is inevitable, and it takes more energy to fight against it than it does to accept it. Making the best out of life's hiccups will allow you to grow as a person and will hopefully make you wiser as a result.
You know that calculus exam you're struggling on or the anatomy exam that you're losing sleep over? They may seem like they matter a lot right now, however, they really don't. Priorities change as we grow and move into the next chapter of our lives. Sometime in the future when you're married or have a job in your dream career, the things you stressed over won't matter anymore. You will overcome any bump in the road, even if it's causing hardship for you right now.
The key is to keep your head up and believe in yourself. You can do it! Obstacles are just a part of life whether we like it or not, so it is important to reflect on what you've been through and how it has shaped you as a person. Stop questioning your happiness and be proud that you've made it this far. Let go of the failures that may weigh you down and be proud of both your strengths and weaknesses. But most importantly, give yourself the time for a moment
