Find Your Inspiration

I've tried writing this over 4 different times today. I've changed my title over 5 times and yet it's nearing midnight and I do not feel inspired to share any words at all. I blame it on the 3 writing intensive classes that I'm in that's taking all the time in my life and making life slightly miserable.

I could blame it on the lack of sleep or the need of a fresh new take on life. I've had both, yet I still have nothing left to share. So when you find yourself lacking inspiration, this is what you should do.

Mix up your favorite tea or coffee. Take the time to let the flavors all swirl together, allow the aroma to swirl in your house and to sweep you up. Take your first sip of said drink and allow the flavors to make it feel like it's your first sip again. What are you sipping? I can taste my hazelnut coffee, that brings me inspiration. Inspiration to wake up, to cheer up, and to seize the day.

Pick up your bible, let it turn to a random page, and slowly bring your finger down the page. Read where it lands. Let the words take hold of your heart and let that give you inspiration. Write down what you read, highlight it, and let it change your life.

Go about your day and check off your todo list. Make sure to use a pink pen and really be thankful for each moment that you have. Look out the window and feel the wind in your hair; on your skin. Let the sun soak you up.

Pray before your meals; give thanks. Recognize what you have and how you got it. Keep your thoughts open and your heart on your sleeves. Don't let the world make you hard and make you forget your worth. In the process of giving back, being thankful, and recognizing your worth you'll not only find yourself but also fall back in love with yourself.

Inspiration can hit you at any point, at any place, and of any caliber. Don't forget to follow those dreams and don't quit reaching for the stars. Life will pass on either way. Do what makes you happy or quit what makes you sad. Put yourself and your mental focus first and the rest will all fall into place.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
