Good news: winter break is close, but that means finals week is a lot closer. You might even currently be suffering through finals week as you read this. If that is the case I would like to express to you how sorry I am. I would also like to tell you that soon enough you will be able to sit on your couch, watch Elf a million times over or binge watch Friends all while eating immeasurable amounts of Christmas cookies. You're almost there. But before you can spend your time relaxin' you have to prepare for the most dreaded week of every college student's life. This is the week where you question every decision you have ever made like, "Why did I take that 2-hour nap four weeks ago?" "Why didn't I spend an extra hour teaching myself chem in the library a month ago?" and "I should not have showered last Sunday, I could have been STUDYING." You might even consider dropping out 1 or twelve times a day. Most of the time emotions are running wild during this time so here is finals week as told by your favorite characters from Friends to help you put it all your crazy thoughts into words...

Okay so first off, what's with those people who don't seem to be too panicked about finals? WE KNOW YOU'RE FREAKIN' OUT TOO.

How about when your professor decides to introduce a brand new topic in your second to last class before finals?

When you're trying to remember what your professor was talking about in past biology lectures but all that comes to mind is:

When you're in the ZONE and someone calls, texts, talks or just completely interrupts the mojo you've got goin' on.

It's not finals week if you haven't considered dropping out at least once while studying.

You know you've been in the library for too long when..

What about when those thoughts of life after finals week start to creep in.

When your professor leads a review session and the only thoughts going through your head are:

Your friends all ask you to go out and your answer is very clear.

After spending a rough seven hours studying in the library and you remember you forgot to edit your last paper for psychology.

When you have all 600 note cards memorized for your chemistry exam, you walk in to take it and you realize:

Finally, you've taken your last exam, you can go home to home cooked meals, quality time with family and friends and best of all you can SLEEP!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
