A Final Letter To My Chapter, AOII

Sisters,

With a heavy heart and box of tissues beside me, I have some final words for my chapter before I graduate and become an alumna. From the second you walked into a room of Alpha Omicron Pi women, you were special and there was a reason you were there. There was a second in your life you made the decision to rush a sorority, whether your heart was different when you walked in or when you left, you were changed for the better. The women sitting next to you, the women you encounter during your life, are all women that will leave a mark on your heart. The days as a collegiate member are over, but that doesn't change our relationships. I will forever be your sister and you will always be able to come to me for anything and everything. There are a few things, I want you to know:

First off, you are only as good as you believe you are. If you say things about being positive and changing for the better, you have to actually do the actions to be the change. Not only does this relay into your personal life but within the chapter. Always stay positive, in every situation. You can do anything you want to if you stay to it and stay positive. Look to your sisters for advice, there are so many different opinions you will be able to see different views of situations. If you agree to do something do it and never back out because as time goes on it will only hurt the people around you.

Second, cherish the moments you have will your sisters. Always do something 100%, even though you want to being a million other things at that time. When your time as a collegiate is ending you never want to regret not spending that time with them. If you have made the time to be around them, it shouldn't matter what you are doing just that you are spending time with them. Never give up on sisters because they aren't being 100%, give them the benefit of the doubt and wait till they look for advice or for someone to listen to them.

Thirdly, be the sister that everyone feels like they can come to. Be the sister that is strong willed and patient. Will your sisters and always be the best you can be for them because they deserve nothing less. Walk into any room with your sisters and be that happiness that sparks great memories. There's nothing more rewarding than seeing the happiness within your sisters.

Finally, never have any regrets when you graduate. Having regret can really hurt you when you leave and realize you missed out on opportunities. If you treat every second with your sisters like it was your last and attend everything you can, there wont be any regrets. So live it up while your still with the chapter and always remember to put a fresh coat of lipstick on and move forward.

I will always keep a special place for each of you in my heart. Each of you are special and were chosen to be in this wonderful sisterhood for a reason. Never forget how special Alpha Omicron Pi is and always stay true to yourself.

With Love,

Dallas

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
