So Valentine's Day is coming up soon, whether you are in a relationship this year or not, I'm sure you could use an expert's advice. Here is the best advice you will ever read. Thanks to yours truly, enjoy!
1. Evaluate your current relationship status.
If you find yourself single this Valentine’s Day, don’t worry. No one needs to know you will probably spend the day watching Netflix in your ex-boyfriends sweats. Call today and order yourself flowers, make sure to sign the card “from your secret admirer.” This way, everyone thinks you have your love life together. If you actually are in a relationship this year, you better get prepared. With Valentine’s Day approaching fast, you want to make sure everything is perfect.
2. Make plans for your big romantic date.
Again, if you happen to be single this year, you probably will end up in bed all day. This is okay though, just make sure to get festive this year -- light a few candles, place some rose petals on the bed, pour yourself a glass of… sparkling grape juice. When it comes to being in a relationship, you must pull out all the stops. Valentine’s Day is supposed to be the most romantic day of the year, so make sure you take your significant other out to the fanciest restaurant in town. McDonalds or Mighty Taco will usually suffice.
3. Make the handmade gift.
It's important to treat yourself, and if you’re not in a relationship, this day is focused all around that. Be sure to write yourself a card, explaining how much you love yourself and appreciate all that you put up with. Let’s be honest, you can be a handful and this is probably the reason that you are single in the first place. Now, for your significant other, everyone likes gifts that are made from the heart. I normally don’t suggest literally giving your heart away to someone, but maybe today should be the day. There is no gesture more romantic than giving your “handmade” human heart to the love of your life.
4. Get ready for your date.
This is the really great part of being alone on Valentine’s day, no one can see you. After you stop crying over your ex, use this time to treat yourself to a facemask, maybe take a bath, the possibilities are endless. After you have pampered yourself, put on your nicest underwear you have and crawl back into bed. I’m sure that you and Netflix will have a magical night together. While getting ready for your big night on the town with your significant other, remember one thing, they should love you for your personality. Take this as an opportunity to show them what you look like with your fanciest sweats on, put your hair up in the messiest bun possible and don’t forget, by not showering, you are saving a lot of water.
5. Re-evaluate your relationship.
Singles, singles everywhere, have no fear. If you have made it this far with my step-by-step instructions, congratulations! Now you either know the ins and outs of being the perfect significant other on Valentine’s day (for next year, of course.) Or you have realized how much work Valentine’s day is for people in relationships and are completely fine being single. If you still happen to be with your significant other (and alive) after this Valentine’s Day, I guess you took all of my expert advice (you’re welcome). You have two options from this point on, keep up this standard of romanticism every year, or break up with your significant other. Let’s be honest, who likes a Hallmark holiday anyway?
