Finally, it’s September. The wait is over, and you know what that means…
That’s right! Starbucks has officially released the Pumpkin Spice Latte for the season, and in doing so the company has marked the beginning of fall for white girls everywhere. So, brace yourself for the onslaught of Ugg boots, tight leggings, and fluffy scarves, because this is just the beginning my friends. You can choose to fight the most basic (and wonderful) seasons, or you can choose to embrace it, jump on the pumpkin flavored bang-wagon and enjoy the festivities of fall by doing some, if not all, of the following activities.
1. Shop the Bath & Body Works Sales

2. Watch Festive Films
The beginning of fall also means the beginning of chilly weather perfect for snuggling up on the couch with a movie. Whether you're into the classic horror films, the old-school Halloween cartoons such as Casper or Charlie Brown, or even the classic Halloween movies (cough Hocus Pocus cough) there's something festively fitting for everyone this time of year.
3. Consume Festive Drinks.
Pumpkin Spiced Lattes aren't the only warm beverage this time of year. Stores release all kinds of festive flavored drinks to celebrate the start of fall. You can purchase any variety of pumpkin flavored coffee, spicy teas, or alcoholic beverages, or you can make your own. What's the better way to end the day than with your favorite movie from above and a steaming cup of hot chocolate or apple cider? You can even get creative (or peruse Pinterest) to come up with your own spin on these classic drinks...hello pumpkin pie smoothies!
4. Bake....duh.
Cold days, lit candles, old movies, warm drinks....baked goods! Are you sensing a theme here? While you're creating your own delicious beverage you might as well bake something to dip in it. After all, cold weather demands warm pastries, pies and cookies. Plus, who can resist the themed peel and bake sugar cookies of our childhoods? Go ahead, bake, drink, be merry... You can thank me later.
5. Go Outside.
These are the last beautiful days of the season. Soak up the warm sunshine before you're doomed to stay indoors hiding from the wind and snow. Go to a local park, hike a trail or simply sit outside. Enjoy the beauty of nature as the trees change, breathe in the crisp fall air, and notice the ever-later sunsets as fall begins and ends, bringing winter in its wake. Then....
Stay tuned for all the winter fun that can be had! After all, Christmas is coming!
