The Feelings Of Every College Student During Finals Week

As papers pile up and the library becomes a zoo, everyone knows it is finals week. At the beginning of the term, everyone has the intentions of having a great semester. But as the weeks go by and the laziness sets in, your social lives become more distracting, while your classes start making you sweat.

Before you know it, finals week is here and the pressure to pull through is on. After endless hours of having your eyes glued to the computer and nose stuck in text books, we all start to feel the same way.

Saturday before finals.

It is the last weekend out with everyone and you are ready to party! Forget about all the stress and work you have to do this week.

Sunday before finals,

It is time to hit the books. Go time Einstein. Your notes are organized and you get a study room to get in the zone. You think, "Wow, I am so productive."

Then you realize how much you really have to do...

As the week goes on.

You keep telling yourself how all the work will pay off when you are making bank one day.

Then, you start to wonder how some of this is going to even help you in your job? You question why you even took this class?

After this you will be 100 percenter done with the class. Wait.

"What do I need to make it on the final to get an A in the class?"

Quickly your mentality crashes.

You know what, what do I have to get to just pass the class.

Uh oh, you've been in the library for 12 hours straight today and are starting to go crazy. How much have you even gotten done?

Coffee! You need coffee. It is the only thing keeping you going, whether you like it or not!

On days the puppies come to the library, you get a big warm smile on your face.

Then you realize you need to focus, but continue to distract yourself with online shopping, Facebook, and this Odyssey article.

It is go time now.

You've almost been up for 24 hours and your final is just a few hours away.

Then comes the breakdown.

"Why couldn't I be as lucky as Justin Bieber?" He didn't go to college and still had more money than most of us ever will, at only 16.

It seems like all your friends are done with finals and having fun. Then there's you.

At this point, you're ready to quit. You wonder, "What would happen if I just don't show up to the final?" or decide, "I'm ready to drop out and go work at Disney World."

Eventually, you wipe the tears off of your notes and realize you have to pass.

At last.

It's game time – this is your last final!

You walk into the final like.

Then.

You feel like 100 pounds was taken off your chest. Schools out! Scream and shout!

You conclude the stressful week by hugging your friends goodbye for the next month, hopping in your car to head home, and realizing how fast this semester flew by.

"Gosh, I'm old."

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
