“Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.” –Victor Hugo
For many colleges, the last couple of weeks of a semester are the most challenge. To start off with, there are finals and many professors seem to have an affinity for randomly deciding to spring as many projects/essays that they can think of on their students. There are also high levels of stress during this time coupled, with a great desire to go home because the semester is practically over. Tie these factors together and you get highly stressed, exhausted, caffeine-ridden, sleep-deprived college students. This in turn can result in students wanting to give up, do not give up though.
College is hard, life is hard, but as the quote by an anonymous author goes, “Nobody said it would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.” This essentially represents the essence of college and of life, it is a challenge. Do not give up however, the present situation may be dark and seem hopeless but know this; there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, it may not be what was originally expected, but it is still there. It may tough right now, you may be struggling, you may be wondering what the point of all of this is, or you may be wondering if you made the right decision, but whatever you do, do not give up. Believe in yourself and you can accomplish anything. So, this is to you, to the one who feeling like giving up. Don’t. As previously stated, life is a challenge, if it was easy it would not be worth it. If the current path you are on is not the one that you want to be on, then change paths, if you feel like there isn’t a path for you, then forge your own. There are always options, you just have to look for them. Do what makes you happy. Happiness and self-care are the keys to life and, if at this point, you are not sure what makes you happy, try something new, get involved, find what makes you happy.
You will survive and you will succeed because you are strong. Remember that you are a wonderful, unique, human being and that many people like and love you. College is tough, but you have your entire life ahead of you. Life is tough as well but there is something wonderful in each and every day. Do not give up.
