Another long day is coming to a close. You're exhausted and overwhelmed. This day didn't go as you planned. This week didn't go as you planned. All you want to do is crawl into bed, watch Criminal Minds and not talk to anyone, but you can't.
The homework is piling up, and now you are behind, just scraping by trying to get things done. Sleep. Hahaha! Don't even get me started on that. It's not happening. You've stretched yourself thin, wondering how you used to be able to do all of this in high school. Why can't anything ever go your way? That's probably what you have been asking yourself all week. You feel let down, disappointed and utterly exhausted.
But I am here to tell you the week will end. The stress you have now will end. Remember to take time to take care of yourself. Take some time to spend time with friends. Relax. Drink some coffee. Make a list. Organize your time and create priorities, but don't put yourself last. You can't pour into others if you are empty yourself. What can you do to make sure you are more productive and have less stress?
Everything will fall into place. Quit stressing about it. Pray about it. Relax and do what you can. Try to get enough sleep, or at least some sleep. Some is better than none. Keep your coffee stocked, and just breathe. It will all fall into place. Give whatever it is to the Lord and let Him have control. There is only so much you can do, so quit stressing about it. Breathe. Breathe. Breathe. Relax. Relax. Relax. The Lord will take care of it. Cast your cares upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).
Don't let your current stress affect how you treat others because stress is temporary, but people will never forget how you make them feel. So make sure you treat people with respect no matter you feel. Always wear a smile, even when you feel awful. A smile can change how you feel. It can take a bad day and make it a great one. You probably love when people smile at you, so be sure to be a smile for someone else, and a smile doesn't cost you any more time. Smiling can also make you feel less stressed.
Life can be hard. You will get stressed, but it is important to remember that when we are stressed we must prioritize, relax, breathe, smile, and hand it all over to the Lord.
