I'm The person that HATES obligations

You are probably the person that got homework in two weeks late or 'forgot' to do it at all.

I'm The person that HATES obligations

I know it sucks having obligations. It sucks committing to things, and it's very difficult to keep up with them.

I personally try to convince myself that it's okay to give certain things up to reduce the amount of commitments I have... And it's ultimately detrimental to growth. It's detrimental to finding new opportunities. It is one of those qualities that I just hate about myself and at the same time can't seem to shake. Most of the time I don't even realize that I am doing it. I mean I can be very persuasive in talking myself out of doing things.

The important thing to remember is that being given an opportunity to try something new is great, it could lead somewhere you don't even realize. The smallest thing could lead to a new self discovery, or a new career path, anything you say yes to could be something that changes your life forever. And yes it could lead to a dead end, or hurt you eventually but, you said yes for a reason and it's important to keep that in mind.

So stick with what you signed up for, don't stop halfway, don't give up, because you could actually find that you love something about it. You could find that this commitment was the best one you ever made. Whether it be in a relationship, in a hobby, or in a job. The only way you can prosper is through pursuing different things, and even more importantly sticking with them. Don't let your doubts get the best of you.

Don't let your own mind convince you that something won't work out. If you let all of the opportunities that you receive pass you by because of your fear to commit, well then you will find yourself completely stagnant, sitting in the same place you always have been. I think everyone wants to grow, I think everyone wants to become something more, to find their calling, to find passion, and it's important to take all of the opportunities you can to find out more about yourself.

To find out what you truly love and are willing to commit to for the rest of your life. It may be scary or aggravating or even just annoying, but commitments help you grow and as much as it stinks thinking about those obligations, you just can't run away.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
