What's Your Favorite Season?

Fall is home to Halloween, Thanksgiving, and pumpkin spice.

What's Your Favorite Season?
Travel Channel

Living in New England allows me experience all four seasons: spring, summer, fall and winter. I'm sure from looking at the title you know which season is my favorite. Take a guess. It's fall! You guessed correctly! Do you all call it fall or autumn? I personally feel like fall is a great time of the year and maybe you agree with me. Now, here are some reasons why I love the fall!

Time for Hot Drinks!

Although I love iced coffee and teas, I always miss my hot chocolate and coffee! It's finally cool enough outside to get a warm drink without burning up. My favorites are hot chocolate, and any caramel flavored coffee. Having a warm drink is a great way to warm up on a cool fall day. Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks' menus usually change a bit during the fall/winter to incorporate fall/winter themed drinks. For instance, I bet we're all familiar with pumpkin spiced lattes being a fall favorite.

Can Finally Wear Boots!

I love wearing boots. Well first off, they're easy to put on. Running late? Throw on some boots with your outfit and you'll be out the door much faster than you would if you were putting on sneakers. Some boots have laces but I feel they don't untie nearly as much as sneakers do. Don't get me wrong, I still love my sneakers and wear them on the warmer fall days! Boots are great for the cool days and they're great if you want a comfortable shoe choice.

There Are Warm and Cold Days

I like the mix of warm and cold days. That means I can wear a bit of everything in my closet. I can wear sneakers but even boots on the cooler days like I previously mentioned. I don't like when its extremely hot or cold so fall is the perfect season for me. I know one day being hot and the next day isn't the best for our health because we end up getting sick that way. But trust me, it can get cold in the fall. Don't be surprised if it snows a little. Fall can be a little preview of the winter, which isn't everyone's favorite season. I think it's either a love or hate relationship for most.

Halloween and Thanksgiving!

Fall is home to two great holidays which are Halloween and Thanksgiving! Halloween means a whole bunch of candy and costumes. Thanksgiving is a day that usually consists of spending time with your friends and family and eating a whole bunch of food. Then right after Thanksgiving the focus switches to Christmas if you celebrate it. We all know Black Friday where people go out at the break of dawn and start shopping for the best deals. You might be a part of the Black Friday crowd or maybe you wait for Cyber Monday to get the best deals because you'd rather avoid the madness in those stores.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
