This season always brings smiles to everyone's faces and joy into everyone's life. This is a time for family to come together and be as one. We all have different highlights for this time, but a major part of it is dessert. Who doesn't love a good tasty snack or dessert to get you in the holiday mood? This article will describe some of the best season treats to look out for!
1. Sugar Cookies
Let's start out with one of the basic yet so delicious cookies. Sugar cookies are something one can never go wrong with. Whether the dough is pre made or hand made one can always can add whatever they choose. They are most well known for the great combination of sprinkles with icing for the holidays. Amplify the life to them by using cookie cutters and creating fun designs to make them stand out.
2. Oreo Truffles
Yes they are as delicious and amazing as they sound. These tiny little balls of a sweet chocolate on the outside when one first tastes it. Then the inside is an amazing Oreo filling. If I could, I would just eat that filling, but when it all comes together those truffles are heavenly. Oreo truffles do take a while to make so I would definitely plan ahead for the preparation of them. This is my favorite recipe.
3. Pillsbury Cookies
These cookies are a fan favorite for everyone. With little kids, they are a big hit with the fun design on them as well. Pillsbury Cookies are super easy and convenient to make when in a rush for a last minute dessert. They are pretty much a sugar cookie, but in a way different. These decorative cookies go perfect with the hot chocolate on a movie day. Not to mention, all one needs to do is take them out of the package and place them on a cooking sheet. Little clean up and time; a parents dream come true.
4. Hot Chocolate
What could go better with watching some holiday movies on a snow day? This is a drink that anyone of all ages can have. Plus one can add their own little twist to it by maybe adding peppermint or marsh mellows. This is another treat that can be created into whatever is being craved. Everyone is satisfied and merry.
5. Apple Pie
This dessert is definitely one that takes a lot of time into making, but totally worth it in the end. Yes, this is more comparable to a Thanksgiving dessert, but it also goes very well after having a nice time with the family. It serves a lot of people so making two of them is saving money and time. It is hard not to like apple pie. Especially when it is nice and warm topped with some ice cream or whipped cream.
