The holidays are rife with delicious desserts. Whether you’re a chocolate lover, peppermint appreciator, or gingerbread worshiper, there’s always something for every taste bud and every picky guest that could possibly show up for dinner. Here are what some of your favorite Christmas desserts say about you.

1. Hot chocolate

You’re a delight to have at holiday events. You’re always talking and bringing people together with your warm personality. You have a way of telling rich stories and reminiscing on ooey gooey marshmallow memories that makes everyone want to be around you. You’re versatile enough to get along with pretty much anyone and everyone-- there’s rarely a person who doesn’t like you.

2. Gingerbread cookies

You’re an acquired taste. Not everyone likes you, but those who do like you a lot. You have a unique personality that not everyone always gets, but Christmas wouldn’t be the same without you around.

3. Fruitcake

You’re a traditionalist. You like everything to be ‘just so’ at Christmas. The ornaments have to be put up a certain way, it’s your duty to put out the best assortment of cookies for Santa, and you always have the best decorations. Not to mention, you have had ENOUGH of these new Christmas song remakes... what was wrong with the originals?

4. Cheesecake

You may be a bit different from everyone else, but you’re wonderful just the same. Your tangy personality is refreshing and it’s a delight (if sometimes a surprise) to see you at the holiday party.

5. Pie

You are a people-pleaser. You often adapt to what everyone else wants. You're not picky about who you sit next to... ice cream, whipped cream, you get along with everyone. You have lots of different flavors to your personality, so it's easy for you to talk to anyone.

6. Candy canes

You are the sometimes forgotten, but always delicious, dessert. Not everyone thinks you qualify as one, but those who love you will stand up for you. You're often separated from the other desserts, but you don't mind. You have plenty of company from your fellow candy cane friends.

7. Peppermint bark

You add just the right amount of holiday cheer without stealing the spotlight away from all the other desserts. You may be quietly appreciated, but everyone always comes back for more.

8. Fudge

You’re the most popular guest. You’re the one everyone is always vying to talk to and can’t leave the party before they do. You melt everyone’s heart with your sweetness... but sometimes you can be TOO sweet. In large quantities, you can cause quite the headache for the other guests.

No matter what dessert you are, you add your own unique flavor to every Christmas party! You are all wonderful in your own way.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
