It that season of the year, where we celebrate all our strong, courageous fathers. This week, I decided to do something special and write a simple poem that describes my father's attributes. Hope you enjoy!

Happy Father's Day to all the amazing husbands, wonderful dads, and single dads out there that are playing both roles. :)

Best Dad Ever!

Father's Day 2018

Pintrest

In Proverbs 20:7, it states, "The righteous man walks in integrity, His children are blessed after

him."

When I was born on that special day, you held me so close and tight,

With your strong, yet tender arms, you promised to never let me out of your sight

You carried me on your shoulders to show me the world

You taught me to live by God's word and you were never afraid to mention, "Oh, that's Daddy's

Little Girl"

There is tranquility and comfort when I talk to you

Because no matter how major or minor my problems are, you always have an answer and a clue

The meaning of a father is so very pure

The life lessons that you have instilled, have encouraged me to mature

Though I must admit, when you are strict most times

You are also lenient at the prime

Your super corny jokes and contagious laugh gets the best out of me

Because you knew it made me content and happy

With challenges and tribulations that have knocked me down

Your honest opinions and advice brings me closer to you where we have a common ground

I have admired how you take a spiritual approach towards life

With the ability to fight and strive for that Christian light

My love for you is always hard to for me express

Because you never, never fail to impress

You never look for praises

You are never the one to boast

You quietly sacrifice and work

You do this for your family that you love the most

Your dreams are seldom spoken

Your wants are just a few, which include, for all of us to be successful all the way through

And most times, your worries and pain

Will just go unspoken too

Dad I plead that you take the words in every little way

To take the time and enjoy this day

No matter how far or near I will be

Your daughter will love you for eternity!

Happy Father's Day! 😊

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
