9 Fashion Trends That Should Stay In 2015
BuzzFeed

Last year there were some trends we loved and, per usual, some we hated. I think we can almost all agree that some need to stay in 2015. So, as they say, out with the old and in with the new.

Disclaimer: By no means am I in any way shape or form some kind of fashion guru. If you wear any of these things please take no offense to what I am saying, and definitely do not let me be the reason you stop wearing it. Your personal style is your own, and I have no intentions of changing anyone. If you want to rock it, go for it.

1. High-waisted pants

If they look good on you, they look amazing. But if they don’t, they really don’t. So if you’re one of the few who can rock it, by all means go for it. If you can’t (like me), maybe look for a different style. Trust me, there are plenty of other options.

2. Cropped sweaters

These just make no sense to me. At all. Isn’t the point of sweaters to be warm, cozy, and cute? You’re definitely not going to be warm or cozy with your stomach out. The only way to resolve the bare midriff would be to pair the top with high-waisted pants, and you already know the problem with those.

3. Short shorts

Listen, I get it. Sometimes it’s really hot out, and there is no doubt you should wear shorts. But do your cheeks really need to hang out? Sometimes it's good to leave a little to the imagination...

4. Overalls

They were definitely all the rage when we were 7 years old, but just as we have grown out of those overalls, we should all probably grow out of that trend. So unless you’re a farmer and they’re the most practical choice of clothing, it might be time to move on.

5. Rainbow colored hair

For some reason, celebrities really went for the crazy colored hair this past year. Kylie Jenner, Hilary Duff, and Katy Perry (even though this was no new trend for her) all stepped out in some wild colored hair. If I'm being honest, even I have done a streak of purple in my hair with Kool-Aid, and I do not advise anyone else attempt it, but the whole head seems a little too clownish for my taste.

6. Double dress slits

The single dress slit in a maxi dress is perfect. It makes it easier to walk and gives your legs a little air. Even the lower double dress slits are OK. The problem occurs when the slits go all the way up to above your hips. At this point, it changes from a cute slit to a flap on the dress to cover you up. Personally, I would be terrified because the smallest gust of wind would leave me quite exposed.

7. Big chunky black combat boots

One of my favorite parts of the fall and winter is being able to wear boots. Especially in the winter, we find ourselves wearing thicker boots to keep our feet warm. However, these huge black combat boots are a little excessive. Personally, I think I would fall on my face trying to clomp around in them. On the bright side, they could provide a leg workout from trying to lift your feet up to walk.

8. Denim on denim

Did we not already rule this trend out? It's the simple rule that you don't wear gray with gray or plaid with plaid.

9. Excessive fringe

I’m all about fringe. Throw some booties or a bag, but a there definitely is a limit. Having strings of fabric hanging from your arms and your back is incredibly impractical, and I can imagine it's super annoying. If you still love this dress, you can find it at Forever 21.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
