Anyone who knows me knows that I have two fashion styles: bad bitch business woman and sloppy hot mess with some crocs. Hahaha, there is no in between. While I love getting dolled up for special occasions such as broadcast and first few dates, home is where the heart is. And home for me is in my oversized black Underarmor sweatpants with a hole in the knee and an oversized sweatshirt. I may wear a Nike hat or my glasses or both because some days I have absolutely no desire to put on makeup.

It’s actually pretty humorous how many people say to me “oh my gosh Mallory, you look so professional,” or “wow Mallory, you look so good dressed up.” Thank you for all of the glowing smiles and wide open eyes when I walk into a room dressed in heels and a pencil skirt but more importantly, thank you for accepting me without makeup and in my real signature style.

You see, in high school, I dressed up almost every day. I think I made it all the way to the month of December my senior year of high school before I actually wore sweats to school. I did my hair and makeup every day and even touched it up throughout and now, I'm sitting here thinking, I have no idea why. Maybe it was an insecurity issue. Maybe I just wasn’t comfortable without feeling put together right-fully so. I totally agree that if you look good, you feel good. But at that point in my life, I only felt good if I looked good.

I’m not sure at what point that mindset changed for me but regardless it did and I am so proud and happy to be that girl in sweats and a sweatshirt every day. And to celebrate I will share with you some of my very own fashion tips. Sit back, relax, and take some notes.

1. Crocs will make or break your outfit. But mainly, make.

I know you all owned a pair of these bad boys in fifth grade so my question is whoever said to get rid of them??? Crocs have changed my life for the better and I really don’t know where I would be without them. Pretty sure I wore them to my first college party and there I met my day one, lifelong friends. Oh yeah and I wore them to junior prom. The best thing about Crocs is all the different styles and colors but be careful here! While the normal style almost always goes with everything no matter what color, there’s also plenty of other styles sometimes including fur, and they tend to make the outfit look too dorky and your feet too bulky.

2. Groutfits are cozy AND cute!

So groutfits for those who don’t know are simply gray outfits, more specifically grey sweatpants paired with a grey sweatshirt. I am a huge fan!! I’ve worn a groutfit or two to a couple of parties and let me tell you nothing says “I’m just here to turn up and have fun and impress people with my personality rather than fashion sense” better than a groutfit! I don’t have much else to say about this one other than grey looks great on everyone and you also feel 10 times comfier for some reason.

3. It's OK to pair navy with black.

This rule totally depends on what kind of outfit you’re wearing and in this case, if you’re wearing black sweats and navy tee shirt or sweatshirt, yeah it’s ok. Personally, I think these two colors complement each other with their dark shades. Ooh, especially if you have a kickass accent color like white or gold! (I have a feeling if you’re still reading at this point you’re judging me pretty hard)

4. Over-sized tee shirts and running shorts are the current TREND.

This is my go-to summer outfit! There’s literally endless possibilities and let’s not forgot how much cuter oversized shirts are compared to fitted shirts. With this outfit, matching is preferred but optional considering no one will hardly see that you’re actually wearing pants. If it’s a bit chilly outside, try a long sleeve cotton shirt! Oh and those crocs I mentioned earlier? Yeah, they’ll MAKE this outfit!

5. A baseball hat and glasses: perfect alternative to makeup.

Okay so if you’re feeling really lazy you probably don’t want to do your makeup and I don’t blame you. I think I’ve worn makeup to my 9 A.M. class maybe twice? In that case, though, especially during the winter when I’m extra pasty, I have to do something with my face! Or do I? Throw a hat on and this will cover or at least add some shade to the majority of your face AND it will hide that bedhead! And if you’re blind as a bat, skip the contacts and throw on your glasses. You will look studious and a bit more presentable.

6. My holy grail

I’ve saved the best for last because if you’ve actually made it this far then you deserve to know the cherry on top of my signature style: Champion Women's Rewind Slip-ons. The best part is they go with anything, and yes, I mean everything! I wear these probably 4-5 days a week if not more. You can wear them with any of the outfits mentioned above (especially the groutfit) and you can pair them with a cute and casual going out outfit. I’ve never been a fan of Chuck Taylors or Converse or Vans so these are the perfect alternative! They are the perfect walking shoe. I’ve probably never had a pair of shoes comfier, well other than Crocs. I’d be so lost without these babies. Thank you, God for Champion Women’s Rewind Slip-ons.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
