In today's generation things are changing more and more technology is taking over the world and social media is dominating everywhere. Fashion trends are changing too. Generation X has now become more "out there" when it comes to fashion. Social media has become the "voice" of different fashion trends. Today we are now more open about the things that we care about. Fashion has been right in the middle of everything.

When I was in high school the fashion trends were somewhat the same as today. Matching colors and patterns was still in style. I remember that things started to shift. Girls were starting to wear more risque clothing to school. I started to see that pop color makeup was starting to emerge. Pop color lipsticks were popular in high school as well. I remember, the guys wore baggy pants. Baggy pants has become more and more popular in school. All of the trends I am mentioning are still trends today. Polo; Ralph Lauren and Ed Hardy were the popular brands students wore in high school. Things haven't changed a lot since high school.

In high school today, things are somewhat different then when I was in school. Girl are more risque now. Wearing makeup still hasn't changed. Girls today look more older than they should The popular brands high school students wearing now are; H&M, Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, and Hollister. Generation X tends to want their clothing cheap and quick. All of these different stores/brands does that with their garments. Generation x is very "out there" with their style/clothing. Generation x tends to stand out more with what they want to wear and how they wear it.

There are a lot of different fashion trends, that are popular today. I'm going to talk about some of the fashion trends. Street style is the most popular style there is. Street style is combined with baggy jeans, sneakers and jerseys. Another style is bohemian. Bohemian style is combined with hippie-like clothing. This style has become very popular lately. Lastly, the rebel chic style. The rebel chic style is combined with gothic-like clothing and the clothing tends to be very dark. This is another popular trend.

Fashion not only have to do with trends and clothing. Fashion is about expressing yourself and stand up for what you believe in. An example of how people express themselves through fashion is The hippie movement. The hippie movement was big when it comes to fashion and expressing yourself. Fashion is one of the biggest ways you can express yourself. Always be yourself and stand for what you believe in!
