One of my favorite things about growing up in the time I am in right now is the sole purpose of President Barack Obama. For the last eight years, we've watched as he has helped inspire millions of young minds to grow up and be better people in a world full of so much sadness and hurt.

Being still very young, I started paying attention to politics right as Obama was running for his second term. I remember thinking to myself that there are people out there who will always disagree and think just one term is enough time to make an impact. But as we've seen in the last eight years, his first term was just the beginning and he's really changed the course of the way we see The United States. That can be proven in so many ways but the fact that many wish he could just stay for another term speaks volumes.

President Obama was more than just a president in my eyes; He was a husband. The very stunning Michelle Obama took on a role she never asked for but excelled at perfectly. She helped all of us head towards a life full of loving ourselves and eating healthier. Michelle and Barack showed America what love is-- not only with each other but to every single person they met and touched throughout the media. Thank you for being genuine and real. We really need more people like these two on this planet.

President Obama was also a father to two beautiful girls who were often looked at very closely in the public eye. I can honestly say, if that was me having to grow up as the President's daughter, I don't think I could have handled it as mature and well as they have.

And of course, we can't forget about the ultimate and infectiously adorable bromance that we have all come to love between Joe Biden and Barack Obama. Since day one, these two have always had each others backs and given everyone a reason to smile. From creating headlines and spending their love to one another through social media to supporting the other in everything they wish to do in life; they are everything I could ever want in a best friend and it makes my heart so happy to see these two still so close and so there for each other.

I've never been good with change and just like every American, and quite possibly every human being partnered with, living in, or even surrounding this beautiful country, I think it is safe to say we are all somewhat scared of what our nation could very well be in for. I, being the person I am, take this new opportunity to let another man prove himself in the ways many doubted President Obama could ever do.

As Obama as in this final address, "Yes we did. Yes we can" Thank you for gracing us with change, for never giving up on your dreams, and for helping all of us see the beauty in someone as great as you. This country will miss you and we hope to see you soon, even if it's just as the First Gentlemen.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
