The holiday season comes along with everything from hectic cross-country travels to scrambling to find a gift for everyone, but there are definitely some moments when you sit back and smile because it's all worth it. These moments always seem to happen within my family.  

Whether we're loudly debating Settlers of Catan rules over dinner or having a seriously intense match of eggnog pong, my family helps to make the cold weather a little less bitter during the winter. I know tons of college kids complain of the boredom that is sure to attack when away from school; however, don't forget to take advantage of limited family time, because after graduation, who knows where we'll be in relation to our, well, relations?

So put down your phone for five minutes, close your laptop, and go help your mom make dinner or challenge your cousins to a board game. Because in ten years, you're a lot more likely to remember being the reigning Scrabble champ in the family than those eight Instagram photos you liked that day.
