Family Is Not Always Called Brother And Sister

Blood is not thicker than water.

Family may not be the people that grew up in the house with you that you called your brother and sister. Family may not everyone who showed up to your house at Christmas and Thanksgiving. Family may not be all the people that showed up to your birthday parties at Chuck E Cheese.

Family is not always blood, and family is not always who you choose.

The saying goes, "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb." This actually means that blood shed in battle bonds soldiers more strongly than simple genetics.

Family is strong. Family is kind. Family is love.

Family is the people who you can call when you are upset. The people you call when something exciting happens. The people you look forward to talking to. The people who are proud of everything you are accomplishing. The people that encourage you.

Family may not always be perfect, and they may not always be who you thought, but family is family.

Throughout our life, we run across people that come into our life and never leave. They become part of our life, and we love them. We may find them at church, or at work. Wherever they come from, family is family and they are not replaceable. Family is crazy, and family fights. Family has its ups and downs, and you go through periods where you do not speak to each other, but at the end of the day, family is still there for you. Family is your biggest fan, and they may drive you up and down the walls, but family is family and they are unending love.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. - 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

Family can be found when you are least looking. You may not realize that you are surrounded by family when you are at dinner with your closest friends, but that is family.

Family can enjoy their time when everyone is gathered around in living room watching a movie, and everybody is at peace. Family is not always going to the water park or going to the lake. Family is good quality time together, and enjoying your time sitting around eating dinner and talking. Family is unending love and always there for you. They are a great support system and you can always call them when you need help.

Families are all different, but out in public, we act like we are a normal family.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
