Family means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. Your family encompasses the people you love, and who love you, and these are the people that are there for you through thick and thin. Whether blood-related or not, they are a part of you. They make up who you are. After all, you become most like the people with which you surround yourself. You literally wouldn't be here without them, and if you were you wouldn't be in the place you are today. These people love you.
All families are different, and not all of them get along all the time. Every family has their own problems. Every single one. Aren't they destined to though? You tell these people everything and they know about nearly every aspect of your life. With that in mind, there is bound to be some sort of conflict, especially since they tend to have your best interest in mind and so they will voice their opinions or act on them in order for you to be the best you possibly can, though you may not like their method of doing so. Sometimes it can be hard to realize that they really do want what is best for you, but one day you'll realize that was exactly their goal.
When disagreements do occur, it is important to address them and put in the effort to resolve them because all too often divides are created and it can be difficult to come back from that. Nobody is perfect and we all make mistakes. Though you may see things differently from them, respect their opinions and they should do the same for you.
Your family may be composed of strikingly different personality types and everyone may have a different way of looking at things, so it can be really difficult to see where the other person is coming from, but in the end, we should try to set aside our differences because you all love each other very much. It might not be said frequently enough or expressed in the right ways, but they do. Sometimes it is expressed in pretty dysfunctional ways, but that is how it is for literally every family there ever was in the history of time.
Show your love for them every day. You might not be best friends with each other, but you do all love one another, though sometimes it can be really difficult to tell. No matter what, tell them how much you appreciate them and tell them you love them. In the end, you all want each other to be happy, healthy, wise, and well. Don't take your family for granted. Love them with everything you have.
