How You Feel Fall Semester Vs. Spring Semester

Working hard or hardly working?

How You Feel Fall Semester Vs. Spring Semester
Buffalo State College

Do you feel you're lacking complete motivation every Spring semester? But yet every Fall it feels like a brand new beginning to try again? You're not alone, all of us college students seem to have similar attitudes when trying to make it through each of these very different semesters.

1. Organization.

Fall semester begins and we all have our new folders, notebooks, binders, agendas to write in, everything's color coded and hi-lighted with a plethora of pens all neat and in order.

Spring semester comes on by and we go to class with a crumpled up sheet of paper we found in the bottom of our bag and don't even attempt to write notes— most likely because we don't have anything to write with. We're basically just winging it by now.

2. Taking notes.

Fall semester you're sitting up front with a notebook full of basically everything the professor said

Spring Semester... what notes? You're just trying to stay awake at this point

3. Effort.

Fall semester you're super ready to take on whatever comes your way.

Spring semester your motivation was depleted on the first day back.

4. Getting ready.

Fall semester we're all fashionable, getting up early, getting ready, looking good.

The Spring semester rolls around and we sleep to the last minute and walk into class with wine stains on our pants from this past weekend.

5. Attendance.

In the Fall semester, you probably only missed a few classes and if you did you felt really guilty and actively tried to go to all your classes and participate.

Spring semester you basically are either late to every class or not there at all; along with the fact you feel no guilt about it.

6. Grades.

Fall semester you worked hard for those amazing grades you received and probably we're reppin' a high GPA.

Spring semester, you're just really excited you're passing.

7. Homework and Studying

Fall semester you got things done on time and studied for your exams

Spring semester you probably forgot how to study and just remembered at 11:55 pm that you have something due by 12 am but you'll somehow get it done.

It might be a lot harder and a huge lack of motivation in the Spring semester but we'll make it through, we always do. Even if it's not Fall semester worthy, at least we're trying. Keep going we're almost at the finish line!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
