"Spiced Nut," "Pumpkin Nut," "Crushed Pecan," "Roasted Almond." Fall is especially the worst holiday ever when it comes to us fellow peanut/tree-nut allergy sufferers. Whether it's celebrating Halloween class-parties or hosting a get-together, make sure to include all of us allergy sufferers! Click each photo for the recipe! Here are a few ideas to help cater for the next party:
1. Snickerdoodle Rice Krispies
Not only is this nut-free, but it is also dairy, egg, soy, and gluten-free! Take rice crispy cereal, coconut milk, marshmallows, cinnamon, granulated sugar, and mix it all into a pot on low heat. Once all combined, pour mixture into a baking pan and let it mold! Once cooled, cut up a piece and enjoy a snickerdoodle rice crispy treat!
2. Salted Caramel Pretzel Bark
Pretzels are great because of their salty texture. Incorporating it into sea salt caramel and chocolate does give an overall nutty flavor and texture, making pretzels the perfect substitute for something similar to a Kind-Bar. This super easy snack is perfect for the last minute preparation, or even a quick snack. You can definitely mix it up with different chocolates (white, M&M's, chocolate chips, etc).
3. Caramel Apple Crisp Mini Cheesecakes
A cheesecake with an Autumn twist to it. It's similar to an apple crumb pie, or apple crumb muffin, just in a cheesecake form! This is a dessert that requires a little more time and ingredients, but the bite-size dessert makes it super fun to eat and a great bite.
4. Soft Maple Sugar Cookies
Nothing says Fall than a smokey aroma, especially with maple syrup! If you have local maple syrup, this recipe is one worth trying. Not only is this version of a cookie healthier than usual, this recipe will leave you with a cookie that is crisp on the outside, and soft on the inside, perfect to pair with a glass of warm milk on those chillier Fall days.
5. Sheet Pan S'mores
Whether it is too cold outside to start a campfire or you may live in an urban area, s'mores may not always be ideal. However, these sheet pan smores will make you feel right outside in the Fall air! Just as any s'mores, you'll need three simple ingredients and voila! No campfire needed (and, no nuts!).
6. Pumpkin French Toast
There's nothing better to start the morning than a good, hearty breakfast! French toast is the best paired with maple syrup, so the pumpkin and cinnamon flavor definitely spices up the breakfast food. Not only is this tasteful, but it's one of the few "no-nut" pumpkin-spice recipes! Bon Appetit!
