Fall In Love

We get one period of time in which we can be vulnerable and young, make it count.

Fall In Love
Emily Alspaugh

Fall in love young and don't hold back. I'm not saying to fall in love like you probably think I mean. I'm not saying go out and find another person and fall in love, fall in love with everything around you. Fall in love with the way the sun warms your skin, fall in love with the fresh smell of coffee or cut grass. Fall madly, deeply in love while you're young. Fall in love with places and movies and music. Don't hold yourself back, being young is a time where we have the most freedom to go out and explore and do things. Fall in love with yourself, your body, your life.

Fall in love young and don't let someone tell you not to do something or discourage you. We get one shot at this life and what's the point of sitting back and waiting for things to happen. Go out of your comfort zone, try new things, live this life to the fullest it can be. Find something you're passionate about and fall in love, fall in love hard and don't hold back.

Being the age that we are, getting ready to leave our teenage years behind and entering our early twenties, becoming young adults, there's a lot of pressure to be in a relationship or to find love. I'm not trying to say that being in a relationship is bad or that people should just stop trying to find someone to spend their time with, but don't let it hold you back from everything else.

Fall in love with yourself, your life, things you're passionate about, things you enjoy, and it'll make everything a lot easier.

10 things I fell in love with:

1. Learning.

2. Traveling and exploring new places.

3. The feeling you get when you play a sport you love.

4. Hearing favorite songs that send chills down your body.

5. Spending time with good friends.

6. Warm rays of sunshine on your skin.

7. Dancing.

8. Spending time on the beach.

9. Helping people, learning about their life stories.

10. The feeling of love.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
