As much as we crave it sometimes, not everyone is ready to fall in love. Before jumping into a relationship, you need to not only be confident with yourself but also in your likes and dislikes. Most importantly though, you need to be confident in what you love. Whether it's listening to live music or traveling the world, what you love defines who you are and will set the path for what and how you love in the future. I think one of the biggest mistakes we make is looking to find someone else before we find ourselves. You are what you love, so it's important to know what it is that makes you who you are. Here are four important things everyone should fall in love with before falling in love with another person.

1. Places

It could be anywhere from the park down the block from your house to somewhere you visited across the world that you just simply fell in love with at first sight, but you need that place. The place that makes you feel whole, happy, safe and loved. Somewhere that you went and immediately knew it was your safe haven. Your place.

2. Music

You may not think this one is important but it is. Music is a bigger part of us than we realize. There's not a doubt in my mind that you haven't caught yourself singing your favorite song in the shower or humming a corny jingle you heard on a commercial, and it's almost in a self-soothing way. Singing has been proven to boost your mood almost immediately, so how can you not be content when you're listening to or singing your favorite songs? A good song is the cure to every bad day, every broken heart and can also make any good day better. It's relatable when your sad and fun when you're happy. At least for me, the music I love has become a part of who I am, and I think it's important for everyone to have that outlet of listening to something they love.

3. Hobbies

Soccer, bike riding, knitting, running, whatever it may be, fall in love with a hobby. Something you can do regularly and something that makes you feel good about yourself and gives you a sense of identity. Having a hobby is a good escape for when you can't get your mind off something. You can go and focus on something else and something that you love. Instead of feeling like you have to rely on a person to make you happy, rely on a hobby.

4. Yourself

Lastly, and definitely most importantly, fall in love with yourself. Not in a conceited way or thinking you're better than anyone else, but seeing all the good and the bad in yourself and accepting who you are as a person. You're own weird quirky sense of humor or your huge heart? Now those are things to fall in love with. Make sure you know your worth and how amazing your beautiful self is, so that you know to accept nothing less than the love you have for yourself when it comes time. No one wants to love someone who doesn't love themselves. Self-doubt and insecurity can be seen from a mile away, and that opens the door to let someone else go and doubt you (and we don't want that). Show the world that you love every single one of your flaws and all of a sudden, they will be seen as your perfections.

Places, music, hobbies and yourself. Four things that can make you feel better and are essential to your happiness; now go fall in love with them.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
