When the summer heat begins to subside and cooler days become the norm, it’s time to celebrate fall’s arrival! Many times people think of fall as nothing more than the waiting period between the freedom of summertime and the frigid chill of winter. But really fall is the perfect season and there are so many fun things that you can do to make this fall your best one yet!
Go apple picking!
What better way to spend a nice homework free afternoon than to go apple picking? Cozy up in your comfy fall gear and grab some friends to head to the orchard with you. Pick some apples and bring them home to cook up some tasty fall treats. You can whip up a delicious apple pie or an even easier apple turnover.
Go on a trip to a farm!
In the fall most farms boast large pumpkin patches, hay rides, and infamous corn mazes- the perfect way to spend any fall day! Don’t forget to check out the farm stand too for some farm fresh apple cider and other fall goodies.
Have friends over for a fall cocktail party!
Looking to try some new drink recipes? Try some fun fall twists on the classics like using hard apple cider, apple brandy, and lemon juice to make a fall sangria or mixing fireball and apple cider with a little caramel sauce to make a delicious drink you won’t be able to get enough of!
Go for a hike!
Before the snow comes, throw on your bean boots and head to a nearby national park for some outdoor time. A hike is the perfect way to take in all of the beautiful fall foliage and get your last breaths of fresh air before the winter hibernation begins.
Try the fall flavors at local and national restaurants around you!
What is the first thing I do when I know fall is approaching? Go to Dunkin' for their pumpkin coffee! Many restaurants try some fun food twists during the fall using apples and pumpkin and cinnamon spices. So don’t be afraid to try the specials, I am sure they will be fall-tastic!
Decorate your house or dorm!
Who says decorations are only for the holidays? Fall is the perfect time to decorate. Use some orange mums or pumpkins and gourds to add a cute, seasonal touch to your home!
Dress up for Halloween.
Halloween is in the fall and it offers the perfect excuse to relive your earlier years by dressing up in a crazy, fun costume. If you’re feeling super adventurous you can even go trick-or-treating with your friends!
Make s’mores!
Fall is the perfect weather for s’mores and sitting around the campfire. The nights are chilly, but grab a warm coat and you should be good to go! Try Nutella instead of chocolate bars, it adds a whole other level to the flavor!
