With Fall 2014 in full swing, it's fair to say that campus has seen it's fair share of changes. With new restaurants, new buildings and tons of new students, this fall also brings with it an updated style.
Among the everlasting trends of high-waisted shorts and crop tops or Norts and oversized tees, these top fashions are sure to mark their territory among students all over campus.
Birkenstocks: Going beyond the Jack Rogers phase and evolving further than the Chaco’s craze, the newest sorority shoe trend is Birkenstocks. Not only are these comfy shoes hitting campuses everywhere, they’re even making a name for themselves in the high fashion world too. Spotted on high fashion blogs next to Chanel purses these Birkenstocks are also making a name for themselves among the Norts and oversized T-shirts of college girls everywhere. Move over Tory Burch, these overpriced sandals are the newest money sucking shoe.
Flash Tats: Instead of ruining the rest of your life with some permanent exclamation of love for your soon to be ex-significant other, why not splurge on some temporary flash tattoos? Ranging from 20 to 30 dollars, these temporary metallic tats are the perfect accessory for any outfit and can stay on for up to two weeks. Not only are they short term, they also come in flashy colors that are sure to spruce up any look better than typical black ink.
Kimonos: Despite the fact that these chiffon cover ups have been around for at least a year now, they’re still pulling their rank in this year’s top trends. Not only do they keep you warm on a fall night, they also cover up those tiny shorts and crop top which will help make that revealing outfit much more acceptable. With the fun prints that come in literally every color there is no doubt that you’ll be able to find one that matches any outfit in your wardrobe and if they keep up their popularity they’ll be useful all year round too.
Converse: Starting in Spring, the white Chuck Taylor's made a new name for themselves. These basic tennies were no longer solely worn by rockers and groupies, but instead they began to roam college campuses on the feet of sorority girls and hipsters alike. The Uggs are no longer the staple of the typical white girl after being hastily replaced by the infamous white Converse. Let us rejoice though; typical shoe trends often bring pain, cringing and unnecessary height (lets be honest Jeffery Campbells look like 6 inches of death), but with comfy tennis shoes that can be worn with dresses, Norts or anything else, this shoe trend is one we’re all happy to oblige to.
