Fall Activities You Don't Need A Boyfriend For
Mikaela Burnham

"Everybody is taking their boyfriends so I'm not going, I don't want to be that girl." What girl? A girl who is comfortable enough to accompany her friends and their partners to an activity that is probably fun with or without a significant other? This fall make it a point to not miss out on all the cute activities just because you don't have a guy. Be the girl that is fun and happy with herself and doesn't mind hopping in on an adventure your friends and their significant others have invited you on. Incase you really oppose the idea of hanging out with your friends and their guys here are plenty of fall activities you don't need a boy to accompany you on, friends work much better anyways.

1. Visit the Fair

Guys winning prizes for girls is so over rated. Like come on who wants to carry an overly large cheap teddy bear around with you all day while you try to ride rides and eat food. Also where is that neon colored bear going to sit in your overly crowded room once you get it home? Not to mention fair games are rigged and expensive. If I'm spending money on something at the fair its going to be the food. Trust me I know from experience you don't need boys to eat food with, friends work just as well!

2. Paint/ Carve Pumpkins

Let me be the one to break it to all of the sappy romantics out there, guys don't like carving pumpkins. They don't think it's cute or fun and they really don't care how festive it is. They are doing it to please all of y'all who won't stop harping on it. So if you do want to carve or paint a pumpkin your girlfriends are the best people to do it with because more than likely you aren't forcing them to, they actually want to participate.

3. Watch the 13 Nights of Halloween

Lucky for you it doesn't start until Wednesday so here is your warning. Make sure you have the TV on Freeform (previously known as abc family) every night for a good halloween story. Forget needing anyone to watch these movies with. I mean sure its great to have friends to come over and enjoy them with but I mean if you've had a long day and you want to fall asleep on the couch with your hand in the popcorn bowl there's no shame in it. Sometimes you just need some time to relax. This is an excuse to relax for 13 nights.

4. Have a fall photos shoot (Mccall and friends)

Friends are usually more permanent than boys when your young. Why not have a photo shoot with the people who are going to be around a lot longer than some guy. You will cherish the memories captured in a few shots. You can never have too many good pictures with your girls trust me.

5. Visit a haunted house

I don't know about you but I want someone who is going too scream equally as loud as me when they are scared. I don't need a guy to pretend to be brave with me. I need someone to admit they are as scared as I am and someone who is going to squeeze my hand as hard as I am going to squeeze theirs.

6. Go Hiking or Exploring

It's that time of year where it finally feels good enough to get outside and be adventurous. Load up on the spur of the moment and go hiking, visit a spot you've never been to or just go outside and enjoy all the beauty God has placed on this earth.

7. Build a Fire and Roast Some Marshmallows

Nothing welcomes fall back around like a camp fire and some s'mores. You can forget the diet for one night and splurge on this delicious fall treat! The term "Treat Yo Self" can be applied in this case. If you have a boyfriend you are probably trying (key word) to keep your body in shape and look good. For those of us who could careless and have no one to impress eat an extra s'mores on that note.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
