As the days get shorter and the nights get colder, it’s great to add a bit of comfort into your everyday wardrobe. The weather can be unpredictable, so layering will become your new best friend. These key items are essential for any fall wardrobe!

Rain jacket

The weather is completely unpredictable during this season. When it rains, it pours. Invest in a durable rain jacket because you will use it a lot. You’ll want to have this jacket on hand quite often.

Scarf

If you want to look put together without trying, add a scarf. My personal favorite is the circle scarf from American Apparel. It is heavy and keeps you very warm. I also sometimes use it as a blanket when I don’t have one on me. It is definitely worth the investment.

Flannel

This piece of clothing can be perfect to tie around your waist, and throw on when it gets colder outside. Flannels add a touch of coziness to any outfit. Flannels come in a variety of colors, so that you can pair it with anything.

Watch

For those situations when you can’t access your phone. A watch is both practical and a cute accessory that can add a touch of glamour to any outfit.

Quilted Vest

Great for those days when you want to stay warm without hauling around a bulky jacket. I prefer these vests over the standard puffy ones. They are stylish and practical for layering when it gets cold outside.

Rain boots

There is nothing more annoying than when you step into a puddle and find out that your shoes are not water-resistant. Good quality rain boots are definitely worth the investment.

High quality leggings

Whether you believe leggings can be worn as pants, be sure to pack a good pair of these. Cotton leggings are great to wear under jeans when it gets really cold outside. Athletic leggings are great to throw on when you’re running late.

LBD

You never know when you’ll need to dress up. Black is a timeless color that goes with everything. This classic piece can be dressed up with heels and other fun accessories.

Flats

These shoes can compliment both dressy and casual wardrobes. Comfort should be a priority when choosing what to cover your feet with all day. These shoes are a great option for slim fit pants.

Pullover Sweaters

It’s like wearing a warm, yet trendy blanket. Pro tip: Buy a size up from your regular size to achieve ultimate comfort. These sweaters are great when paired with boots and jeans or leggings.

Booties

Durable and cute, without taking up your whole leg. These style of boots feel much less bulky to wear. They go great with shift dresses or cropped pants.

Hoodies

Fall and hoodies go hand in hand. This casual piece adds a layer of warmth to any outfit. Great for everyday wear, the gym, or even outdoor sporting events. Hoodies are preferable over crewneck sweatshirts because you’ll always be prepared for the rain.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
