Hello, lovely Chi pledges,
I’m a little late to the game, but better late than never, right? I hope you guys will have known me by name and face by now, but if you don’t, that’s okay. I know we have a lot of brothers to keep track of. Just know that I’m one of your many future brothers, hoping to help you have the best experience of your life. Last spring, we lost a whole chunk of amazing and wonderful seniors to the real world. How lucky we were when you all simply stormed into our lives as rushes and then pledges of our fraternity. This is the biggest pledge class our Alpha Phi Omega chapter, Alpha Delta Eta has seen in some time.
You’ve all made it through about half of the pledge process, and I am just as excited and proud of you as you may feel. It won’t be long until you’ll cross and be able to wear the letters with pride and satisfaction. Until then, however, here are some things I just wanted to let you know before the big day.
1. When we say brotherhood, we actually really mean it:

2. Your service leaves a lasting impression:

Our service breaks up into four fields; service to the fraternity, service to the campus, service to the community, and service to the nation. No matter what, your hard work and commitment is definitely noticed. The people that we help have always been grateful for us coming to them, and now they’ve extended their gratitude onto you.
3. Your Bigs will become your guardian angel:
Sure, you’ll have the ability to connect and bond with all the brothers in the brotherhood. But your Big is that special person in your life that was meticulously handpicked to be a family only for you. I may be a bit bias since I had more time to spend and get to know the chosen Bigs before you, but they’re all hands down a group of perfect people you could ever count on. Reveal was only a week ago, but I’m still caught up in the excitement and glee that you were all able to find your Big Brother. You could not have been more perfectly matched. I have nothing but the highest confidence that each and every one of them will always be there whenever you need it and always love you.
4. You have so much potential and it definitely shows:
In Alpha Phi Omega, everyone gets a chance. No one is turned down from being a part of us. We’re able to see your potential the minute you commit yourself. You have what it means to be a brother, and what it means to show leadership, friendship, and service. Once it comes to the moment you cross, we become certain more than ever that you were brought to us for a reason: To make a difference and become a part of something bigger than yourselves. You are going to do amazing things in this fraternity.
5. We got you:
I don’t mean that in the sense that “We got you, you’ve become a new pledge in the fraternity, yay!”. I mean that, meaning if ever should you fall or struggle, you can bet your butt that this fraternity of over fifty members will be there to catch you and pick you up. You will never have to feel like you’re not enough or you don’t matter. We are here to take care of you and we will always accept you just how you are. Don’t be afraid. We got your back.
This is just the beginning, you guys. Although I have not been assigned a Big to anyone, it doesn’t mean I don’t hold as much love and care for you guys as your own Bigs do. I hope you guys can think of me as your ‘Fairy Godbig’. There is nothing stopping me from making sure that you are having fun and you’re always happy. You can always count on me to be there for you and understand you.
I can’t wait for what the future holds.
Love,
Vivi
