Failure is a word that is surrounded by negativity. When people fail they always think that it is a bad thing and that nothing positive can come from it. Moreover, in our society, especially in our education system, failing is something that we should never do. Failing is unacceptable and we should never allow ourselves to do it. If you fail a test you are seen as stupid and unable to regurgitate the information that was given. I feel that this is the wrong way to see failure.
When one fails, whether it be a test or some sort of goal that you didn't achieve, it should be seen as a learning experience. Failing shouldn't be a negative word; it should exist as a learning experience. When you don't reach a goal that you have set your mind to, you fail. Instead of becoming discouraged or upset, learn from it. Get up the next day even more determined than you were before. Figure out what went wrong originally and work your butt off to make sure it doesn't happen again.
Failing is difficult. Especially when you fail at something you have been working at for a long time. However, you need to be able to look past it and move on. Everyone fails. The most successful people in the world fail. J.K. Rowling was rejected by countless publishers and was so poor she had to receive government aid before the "Harry Potter" series was published and she became richer than the Queen of England. She didn’t let failure stop her. She used it as a motivator to do better.
One thing that helps people cope with failure is support from family and friends. Always surround yourself with people that have your back through thick and thin. These people won't care about your failures. They will only care about how you pick yourself up from those failures and keep chugging forward.
Remember, failure is always an option. You will fail many more times than you will succeed and that is okay. What truly matters is how you learn from your mistakes and how you become better because of them. That is a true success.
