Silver stains on the side of your hand after writing, hand cramps from awkwardly holding scissors, uncomfortable school desks. If these three things make sense to you, you're probably left handed. Only 10 percent of the world's population is left handed. For lefties, this basically means that you have spent your life trying to fit into a predominantly right handed world. Being left handed also comes with a lot of other traits you probably don't know about. Some good, some not so good. If you are left handed, then some of these facts might explain a lot.
1. Lefties are more likely to suffer from mental illness like anxiety, depression and even schizophrenia.
2. They are also more likely to have allergies.
3. And migraines.
4. And suffer from insomnia.
5. And dyslexia.
6. They are also three times more likely to become alcoholics.
7. And don't typically live as long as right handed people.
Basically, left handed people are prone to lots of unwanted things. But on a positive note, lefties are capable of some great things.
8. Since they predominantly use their right side of the brain, they are more likely to be creative and pursue creative careers.
9. They excel at multi-tasking and are better than righties at 3D perception and thinking.
10. They think differently than right handed people and tend to be on extreme poles of the intelligence scale.
11. They have an advantage in sports, especially baseball, tennis, swimming, boxing and fencing.
12. They adjust more easily to seeing underwater.
13. And they tend to have great memory.
14. Also, lefties are 39 percent more likely to be homosexual than right handed people.
Einstein, Paul McCartney, Angelina Jolie, Kurt Cobain, Bill Gates, and Pablo Picasso are left handed. If that doesn't tell you something, then I don't know what will. So there are some pros and cons to whatever hand you are dominant with. Being left handed isn't quite so bad.
