Or at least try to.

Before I begin, lets preface first. I think at this point the entire world knows that I despise winter. As I sit here typing this article inside of my favorite coffee shop, the pace of my typing seems significantly slower in comparison to what it was two weeks ago.

With freezing fingertips and an extremely oversized sweater on, I somehow still cannot comprehend how the Northeast gets so cold every year. Like, I am absolutely freezing.

I notice my irritation with the colder months becoming greater each year as my amount of showers per day goes from 1-2 to 3, as my body is constantly freezing and showers seem to be the only thing to help. With this yearly cycle of dreading winter and having to get through it, here are a few pro-tips from someone who really (like, really!) cannot stand it.

1. You could probably stop drinking iced coffee, although I could never advise that

Iced coffee is my thing. Over the past seven years, I have had an iced coffee nearly every day, so at this point I do not know how I would give it up. Although, I am sure if you switched to hot coffee it would help a bit!

2. Wear extremely warm high-socks

My absolute savior in the freezing weather is my warm mid-high socks. Grab yourself a pair of warm mid-socks, or preferably high-socks, and it will make such a difference!

3. Purchase a thick jacket

Or, purchase a plane ticket. That might work better. But truly, fashionable extremely-thick jackets are very easy to find now-a-days, and I am obsessed with mine. Thick jackets become my lifeline in the freezing climate.

4. Stock up on sweatshirts

I have been doing my best to purchase as many sweatshirts as possible, as I know that I practically live in them during the winter. They're way warmer than sweaters, and help tremendously.

5. Probably stop wearing Converse for the season, although I could never advise that either

I love Converse All-Stars. Since first grade, I have been wearing Converse religiously, and I am not sure if I will ever give this trend up. Due to my obsession with them, they always accompany me during the cold winter months—and they do not help much at all with the snow. If you can put aside your Converse for a season, I would love to tell you to do so, but even I cannot even think of doing that. They have zero insulation, but they're just too cute!

Basically, staying warm in the winter is extremely difficult, as no matter where you are the cold somehow seems to make its way to you. Although I find it difficult myself to follow most of these tips, I can guarantee that if you follow a few of them you'll notice somewhat of a difference.

Stay warm!

The Battle Between College And My Mental Health

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
