Exploring the Lyricism: Saved - Khalid

Music has been, is now, and will forever be a form of art. Art has been, is now, will forever be open to the interpretation of the viewer/listener. I am interpreting the song and giving my own opinion as to what I believe is meant. Based on the chord changes and pure lyricism of this song, I have concluded that...

Saved - Khalid

1, 2, 3, 4

He is counting himself in, don't be stupid.

The hard part always seems to last forever

Sometimes I forget that we aren't together

Deep down in my heart, I hope you're doing alright

But from time to time I often think of why you aren't mine

It may seem that the bad times last longer than the good, but it is because our brains tend to focus on the negatives more than the positives. In my case, I take this as... "We are still friends, so it's like you never left." I just want the best for you. The thoughts keep playing in the back of my mind; I can't figure out where we went wrong.

But I'll keep your number saved

Cause I hope one day you'll get the sense to call me

I'm hoping that you'll say

You're missing me the way I'm missing you

So I'll keep your number saved

Cause I hope one day I'll get the pride to call you

To tell you that no one else

Is gonna hold you down the way that I do

I will keep you in my mind because I miss you and I want you to call. I want you to say you miss me too. I still have you in my mind and I want the courage to take the plunge and contact you. There is nobody else like me.

Now, I can't say I'll be alright without you

And I can't say that I haven't tried to

But, all your stuff is gone

I erased all the pictures from my phone

Of me and you

Here's what I'll do

He seems to be breaking down the feeling of being alone again. He realizes that holding onto the past doesn't help. The hard moment aren't keeping him from carrying on.

I'll keep your number saved

Cause I hope one day you'll get the sense to call me

I'm hoping that you'll say

You're missing me the way I'm missing you

So I'll keep your number saved

Cause I hope one day I'll get the pride to call you

To tell you that no one else

Is gonna hold you down the way that I do

I am keeping your number incase you need: a friend, someone to talk to, or if you decide to fall for me. There is a sense of comfort from having the number saved.

I hope you think of all the times we shared

I hope you'll finally realize I was the only one who cared

It's crazy how this love thing seems unfair

You won't find a love like mine anywhere

I hope you realize you were in the wrong. I never did wrong. I only wanted good for you. You don't know what you're missing out on, because is am the bomb.com and you will never have someone like me again. Frankly, you don't deserve it.

I keep you grounded.

But I'll keep your number saved

Cause I hope one day you'll get the sense to call me

I'm hoping that you'll say

You're missing me the way I'm missing you

So I'll keep your number saved

Cause I hope one day I'll get the pride to call you

To tell you that I'm finally over you

I'm finally over you

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
