Everyone loves summer, but its not always what you expect. Plans are made and then never followed through, but no matter what happens every summer you will believe that this will be THE summer.
Expectation: I am going to work out everyday and get in shape this summer. It will be so easy I am going to wake up before work everyday and go for a run outside.

Reality: I am way too tired. I worked today so I deserve to relax. I have all summer to work out today should be for some me time. I just won't eat desert tonight and then it's pretty much even.
Expectation: I'm going to read a ton of books and watch all the movies I keep meaning to see. It'll be so easy before I go to bed I'll watch or read something new.
Reality: I am going to re-watch The Office for the 17th time. It's just so funny. Plus the episodes are so short so when I just need something to fill thirty minutes its perfect. I'll start a good new show tomorrow night for sure.
Expectation: Its so nice outside. I am going to lay out and get tan and be outdoorsy. That will be great for my plans to exercise too. I'll get so many steps on my FitBit it will basically be like I ran a marathon right?
Reality: Sitting inside is so nice. Who cares if its perfect weather I never just get to lay around. I've earned this.
Expectation: I'll work all the time this summer so that I have money when I get back to school. Also since I won't be going out I will for sure save so much money.
Reality: It's summer. Treat yo self.
Expectation: This summer I'll have a cool, serious internship. That way when people ask what my job is I don't have to say I'm a nanny anymore.
Reality: How am I babysitting right now? I don't even really like kids. Also I really hope these kids just want to watch TV all day. I'm never babysitting again.
Expectation: Every weekend I'll travel around the state. I'll also plan a ton of trips to visit out of state friends. If I just leave after work on Friday it won't be a bad drive at all.
Reality: Ok, no. I have no money for gas. Let's take this road trip maybe next weekend and I'll buy a train ticket. It will be better that way because then I can be productive on the train ride.
Don't worry pals. No one has a perfect summer, but be happy when you do follow through and laugh when you don't. Sometimes the best summer days are the ones spent wandering around your house all day doing absolutely nothing. Best of all, it's only halfway through summer as we speak so you still have all the time in the world to fulfill those summer goals. Go for a run, or don't. Its summer who cares, right?
