As the majority of sophomores in Penn State Greek life prepared for what could be the best week of our lives, a plethora of thoughts and emotions are running through our minds, making it even harder to get through the final days of classes before break. Will PV really live up to its expectations? And if it does, will I be able to handle it?
We all started to mentally prepare ourselves for the hardcore rallying that we would inevitably have to struggle through, and spend our time in class daydreaming about every possible scenario for the week. Most of us couldn't determine whether we were more excited or nervous for the trip, nor could we put into words any of our thoughts about the week to come.
Here are the beloved characters of Grey's Anatomy to put our expectations for how the week would go down into words...
1. Gloating.
First off, we couldn't be happier with our decision to spend our whole life's savings on this trip, nor could we be happier to gloat to the people who chose not to. Have fun in Bumblef***, PA while we are having the time of our lives in one of Mexico's most beautiful vacation spots!
2. The arrival.
After hours of traveling and anticipation, the pilot finally comes onto the speaker announcing that we will be landing in a few minutes. Of course the whole plane will erupt in loud cheering, and the first thing on all of our our minds is what we came here for...the parties.
3. Finally ready to start.
The time has finally arrived to start your vacation, and you've never been more excited for anything in your life. The second you throw on your bathing suit, you make a b-line to the bar, and show a little too much appreciation for whichever bartender is working it.
4. The first "morning after."
You aren't quite sure if PV is living up to your expectations just yet, but you have to guess that it is, since you have no memories to judge from.
5. Expectations vs. reality.
Our expectations aren't being met, because the reality of it is so much better than we could have ever imagined. We're not sure how to embrace the thought of this.
6. And, finally, the return home.
After seven days of repeating the above actions and having the greatest time of our lives doing so, we unfortunately have to return to the tundra, that is Happy Valley. You try to figure out what you should tell your friends about the trip when they ask, but are at a loss for words. Although this trip was by far the best week of our lives, all we can think about now is how we feel after it, so, friends, please don't be offended if you don not get the response you were looking for at first. We'll need at least a week to recover before our brains can even contemplate how to describe PV.
