Alright, people, the time has come. Miley Cyrus is officially going to be on stage, by herself, and in full control of hosting MTV’s Video Music Awards. Did that thought spark a little bit of anxiety? Because it did for me.
I don’t really know how I feel about it. I can’t decide if I want to watch or not, because I’m nervously eager to see what is about to be aired on live television, and because she’s secretly my spiritual twin. I just don’t know. What I do know is that this is going to be a performance in itself. Get ready, brace yourselves, and try to think about what’s about to happen.
Let's take a trip back to the VMAs in 2013. Due to her, um, lewd performance, she was banned from performing on the show. Did that stop her from taking over and hosting the entire event? Absolutely not.
I’m anticipating her actions to correlate with her VMA promo ads. Check those bad boys out.
Miley hosting the VMAs is 100 percent going to attract viewers, because she's the epitome of a ticking time bomb. She can go off at any minute. She’s full of surprises, and the surprises tend to go viral. The odds of her making some type of extreme statement are very high.
And of her taking her clothing off. I’m guessing there’s going to be some form of nudity.
Her outfits are unpredictable, but we’re kind of into it.
We all know she literally could not care less about what people think about her. Why stop now? Expect the unexpected, my friends.
I’m going to be real here, she started out on the children’s show "Hannah Montana," and it gave her a case of body dysmorphia. Through all of her career, I’ve grown a new-found respect for Miley. In an interview with Marie Claire, she explained, "I was told for so long what a girl is supposed to be from being on that show. I was made to look like someone that I wasn't, which probably caused some body dysmorphia, because I had been made pretty every day for so long, and then when I wasn't on that show, it was like, Who the f—k am I?”
Tune in this Sunday, Aug 30, to see what she’s going throw at us this time. She continues to let her freak flag fly, and we are definitely in for a surprise... or twelve!
