The Most Evil Act I Have Ever Done (Probably)

Is being "evil" justified?

I don't care who you are or what you say, everyone is evil in some shape or form.

You really can't convince me otherwise. I am never going to think or believe that somebody that has ever existed or still exists in this world that they have never done something, said anything particular, or acted in a matter that makes another person just go, "Damn, that was f*cked up...". We are exposed to evils every single day. I sure know I am. Every time I wake up and proceed to my floor bathroom to handle personal business of mine, I am rudely awakened to the crime scene of 4 non-flushed toilets and a sink covered with shaven hairs off of someone's poorly grown beard. You best believe my thoughts are worse than just, "Damn, that was f*cked up..." on every one of my trips to the restroom.

However, I would be the biggest hypocrite in the history of time if I were to say that this 6'3 goofy, but sexy, ginger has never had any experiences with evil intentions, hence why I am writing the article that you are reading right this very second. Being evil is apart of every day world. There is no clear reality of living in a world where evil simply does not exist. But, is it okay to be evil? Is that why it exists in this world in the first place, because it simply deserves or needs to happen? I lay in bed every night and when the rush of thoughts, events, and nostalgia rush to my brain as I shut my eyes to go to sleep, I do think about some of the times that I felt I committed something evil. "Did I need to do this?" I always ask myself. "Is it justified?".

Today, I share one of these stories with the public, a story that I have only told a handful of times. I chose to tell this story because why the hell not. I love telling stories, especially the ones that are most priceless. It's a thought-provoking story, debating on whether I really should have done this or not. I really don't know. That's up to you to decide. Well, here we go. The most evil act that I have ever committed (debatable depending on who you ask).

(Honorable Mention to the time when I dumped my middle school girlfriend over a Facebook post on her wall. Too savage for anyone's own good. Young Andrew had no heart. I'm sorry, Sydney)

This story takes place in a time not too long ago in the summer of 2015, a time where every single person was losing their mind over Snapchat face-filters and Fetty Wap (not a big fan of him even though I am from New Jersey). I was on summer vacation with my family in our favorite place of beautiful Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Now, explaining how vacations work in Hilton Head would take a whole other article of its own to talk about and explain, but one of the mainstays of a vacation to this southern island is bike riding. It is a key type of transporting in and around the areas of the island. Gotta love it. On this particular day, I had chose to branch off from the rest of my family relaxing on the beach and decided to take some "me" time. Ride around, explore, grab a bite to eat, you get the deal.

I put on my favorite Nike dri-fit shorts, a RVCA tank, and Reef flip-flops and I proceed to roll out. I unchain my bike and ride out of the drive way onto my side street. Before entering onto the bike path besides the road, I stopped and parked my bike a clear 20 feet from the path to check my phone. The path at this point is filled with either people just casually riding solo or families with small children riding in 2-3 seat bikes, calm as can be on a beautiful summer day. However, this calm changed in a matter of seconds. Out of complete nowhere, this 20ish year old guy comes dashing in from one side of path, stops violently short nearly knocking him off his bike and face first into concrete, and almost crashes into an entire family that has now stopped. The noise of the scene drew my attention away from my phone. I look up from my phone, puzzled, and immediately link eyes to this hardo.

He looks up to me, points, and goes: "Hey you! Watch it you f*cking asshole..." and proceeds utter every other curse word at me at high pitch and speeds off.

What was this guy's problem? This Lance Armstrong wannabe with his fancy, state-of-the-art speed bike and his cycling uniform, thinking he's racing in the freakin' Tour De France, has the audacity to curse me out for no legitimate reason in front of a bunch of families that young kids who should not being hearing. I looked at the parents and they gave me this puzzled, appalled look. The kids looked scarred for life too after hearing every cuss in the book.

The mother yells to me, "What was that about? You didn't even do anything."

Now, I could have just shrugged this altercation off, but for some reason, on that given day, something inside me flipped. This guy did not deserve to get away with being a complete jackass to not just me, but to people who were just minding their own business and trying to enjoy the pleasures of island. So, I did something about it.

I looked down while I was putting my phone away and noticed that my tackle box (shoutout to my fellow fishermen) was sitting in the front basket of my bicycle. A tackle box, home to various objects, objects that are relatively sharp. A light bulb went off in my head. I immediately put my feet on the pedals and dash off to the direction of the Lance Armstrong wannabe. I biked as fast as I have ever biked before and managed to catch up within a good distance of seeing view of the guy. He pulls into South Beach Marina, a big hub for food, shops, and entertainment on the island, and goes to park his bike on one of the many bike racks on the side of the front parking lot. I kept my distance from him as he was parking, like a predator stalking its prey.

...and before you get any sick, sadistic ideas of where this story is going: NO, I did not stab this guy. That is just way way way way too far for a situation like this...

But, I did the next best thing. When the guy left his bike, I rolled up, took out the sharpest thing in the tackle box, and slashed the tires.

So there you have it, the most evil thing I've probably done in my entire life. I slashed the tires off of some dude's very expensive, state-of-the-art bicycle because he wrongly cussed me out in front of little children. Looking back on the incident, I question myself: should have I really done something like that for something that really wasn't too much of a big deal? Probably not. I could have been a little bit of a bigger man and brush it off. I do regret it somewhat, but, nothing I can really do now but just look back on it somewhat fondly I guess.

At the end of the day, doing something evil must have its reasons to take place. I'd say, if its even to the predecessor that invoked you thinking about pursuing revenge, then yeah, go ahead. It is justified doing something "bad" once in a while if the time is right. Just don't go over the line and always keep in mind what is fair and what is not. Every person in the world will encounter evil in some shape or form, some lightly and some not so lightly, it's how you take it and react to it is how the situation will turn out the best for you in the longer run, and if that means taking matters into your own hands, then so be it. It is what it is.

And if you're reading this try-hard biker that had his $11,000 bike tires slashed by yours truly, I hope you learned your lesson by not cursing in front of little kids. Sorry!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
