Well, the time has finally come. After what felt like an eternity of waiting, Justin Bieber is finally back on tour. I remember watching "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" this past November and hearing that The Purpose World Tour would kick off in Spring 2016 and dreaded how long it would take for the tour to finally start. Now, March is here and Bieber is back and better than ever. The first show was this past Wednesday in Seattle, WA and it was a complete success. With hundreds of shows left for Bieber to perform, he is bound to hit your city sometime in the near future. Here’s everything you need to know about The Purpose World Tour.
Since his first tour in 2010, the Biebs has become known for his over the top entrances. For his My World Tour entrance, Bieber rose from the floor into a three-dimensional sphere. For his Believe Tour, he came falling from the sky with a pair of wings attached to his back.
Although these two entrances were absolutely insane, nothing can beat what he set up for the Purpose World Tour. Bieber is lifted up from the ground in a transparent box that has handwritten notes in different colored markers. While the fans went crazy for his entrance, Bieber stands in the box motionless as he begins singing the first song of the show, “Mark My Words." This entrance is staying consistent with his entrances from past shows, as well as demonstrating Bieber’s growth in maturity over the past few years. In fact, during the lead up to Bieber rising from the floor, a number of different graphics appear on a large screen while a recording of Bieber speaking plays in the background. The speech is all about his struggles over the past few years and his journey of getting through it all. Overall, his entrance is a perfect start to the show.
Over the past several months there was a lot of talk on which songs, both new and old, Bieber would decide to include in the tour’s set list. Well, I don’t think many fans will be upset with what he decided on performing. Throughout the hour and 45 minutes that he is on stage, he performs 15 of the 19 songs off of "Purpose." Each song carries unique choreography with it, three of which are very worthy of pointing out.
1. "Company"
Bieber changes up the usual dance and sing type of performance for this song. Throughout the whole song, Bieber does a number of different tricks on a trampoline on stage. Yes, a trampoline.
2. "Children"
During this set, Bieber does something he has never done before. He held a contest over the last few weeks and asked children from different cities to submit a video of themselves dancing to the choreography to the song “Children” that he and his dancers would be dancing to on stage every night during the Purpose tour. He picked four kids from every city that he is touring to and those four kids come up on stage and dance with him. How awesome is that?!
3. "Sorry"
Similar to his performance at the 2015 AMAs, Bieber performs his hit song “Sorry” while rain drenches every inch of his body. Not only is this awesome, but it is also the finale to the show.
Bieber also performs some of his older hits, such as “Baby," “As Long As You Love Me” and “Boyfriend.” Some unexpected songs that made the set list are, “Home To Mama” and “Hold Tight.” Unfortunately, Bieber got rid of his usual “One Less Lonely Girl” act, where he brings up one lucky fan to serenade. But, don’t lose hope, maybe he will make an exception when he visits your city!

So we all know Bieber has some awesome dances moves, but his fans have a special place in their hearts for him when he decides to go acoustic on them. Just like in his past tours, Bieber sets aside some quality time to perform some intimate songs to his fans. On The Purpose World Tour, Bieber sits on a couch and sings “Home To Mama” and “Love Yourself” on the guitar. It’s definitely one of the highlights of the show because his voice really shines during acoustic performances.
And if all of this wasn’t enough, there’s more good news. Bieber strays away from his cheesy tour outfits from past years and instead wears more casual, laid back types of clothing. Instead of wearing purple Supras and black leather jackets, Bieber wears typical ripped blue jeans, a couple long T-shirts, and a few different flannels throughout the entire show. Although some don’t like his new wardrobe, I think it’s a way of telling his audience that he is putting less focus on all the background and extra stuff and is focusing more on his voice and his performances, which isn’t a bad thing!
So, there you have it. This is everything Bieber is going to be doing on a nightly basis from now until next November. If you didn’t get the chance to get tickets, there will be plenty of videos and photos online after every show that you can look at so you won’t miss a thing. And for those of you lucky people who did get tickets (including myself), get ready!
