Everything You Feel When You Go Home For The Summer
Power of Dance

Every year as the spring semester comes to a close students everywhere start ramping up for a summer full of lazy sunny days and exciting travel adventures. However, as we head home for the summer a wave of emotions crashes over us and sooner than later we are marking off our calendars to head back to school.

1. YES!! As singer songwriter Alice Cooper once screamed, I mean sang, "School's out for summer!" We've all pictured the waiting for the last final to end, throwing our papers in the air, running down the hallway, movie scene that we've watched a million times.

2. The first night out of school tends to be one of partying it up one last time and avoiding packing for home as hard as you can. It may be a night out at a club or bar, maybe a frat party to round out the year, either way it's you, friends, and the lovely feeling of no class tomorrow.

3. Then the morning comes and through your headache and exhaustion you know it's time to pack on up and head on out. Onwards to the great realm of summer and away from this place that is home for 9 months of your life.

4. You finally get home for the break and you sit down to think of all the possibilities you have to do for the next 3 months. You can lay by the pool, go on a vacation, road trip with some friends... anything is possible.

5. As the first two weeks go by you rush to catch up with all your friends back home, there's girls nights, and lunch dates and seeing the movies you've missed through the year.

6. Then your busy plans start winding down, friends go to summer jobs, you're tired of going out and the pull of Netflix calls your name.

7. As much as you love your friends back home, you start missing your school people. You miss your sorority sisters or fraternity brothers. You miss those 2 am Whataburger and Taco Bell runs. You miss all nighters in the library doing everything except what you're supposed to be doing.

8. Next thing you know you are asking Siri, how many days until August 24, or whatever day you move in. Marking off each day as it gets a little closer.

9. Slowly you start craving the things you said you hated, bad caf food, going to classes, staying up late when you know you have class tomorrow and even your annoying roommate you thought you'd never miss.

10. Then the week before school is here, and you are so excited to head back, you will look back at summer as agood friend you won't see for awhile, until next year.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
