Fall is actually my favorite time of year, and Christmas (Winter) comes around just to intensify it and make it even better. Living in Florida, we don't really get much of a fall or a winter, so I'm writing this article using my memories of how it was in Texas and how I imagine it would be in Florida if Florida was real.

1. Cooler weather

Hot/warm weather is really annoying. I wish it was cool all year round, like what is the real advantage of warm weather? Idk.

2. Cold weather clothes

To be honest, the warm weather doesn't really stop from wearing a sweater or jeans every day, but it's nice to be validated. Fall/winter weather clothing/fashion is the cutest kind of clothing, so once again who needs warm weather?

3. Halloween

I don't even have to explain why Halloween is worth getting hyped over.

4. Fall T.V.

All of the best shows start in the fall. Like American Horror Story which just started this past week and it's lit.

5. Changing of the leaves (for some)

This kind of happened in Texas so I have a sense of what it's like, and of course I've seen pictures so I get it you know? But in Florida this doesn't happen because it's so warm and all we have is palm trees. Annoying.

6. School breaks

Once, I don't really have to explain this.

7. Fall scents

I am always so hype about fall scents I actually spray a pumpkin spice kind of scented spray all year round. They just make you feel so at home and cozy and warm, ugh I love fall scents!

8. Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving food = life.

9. Christmas

Christmas is the best time of year even if you don't celebrate Christmas just because everyone is so happy, the weather is nice and cold, everything is decorated, and it's just a really good time man.

10. Food

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
