While it seems that the internet has been abuzz with politics, politics and more politics the past few months, there has been a diamond in the rough. One of our favorite Disney Channel classics, "That's So Raven," is making a comeback.
No, this isn't a tease with a marathon of the old episodes like Hannah Montana is doing. Currently, in the process of writing and casting, "That's So Raven 2" will portray middle-aged Raven as a divorcee with two kids, Nia and Booker.
According to MoviePilot.com, Nia is a younger version of her mom.
"Her daughter, Nia, is one who inherits her mom's psychic abilities. Much like her mom, her visions and desire to help others gets her 'in over her head.' Considering all the trouble that Raven used to get into on the show when she was a kid, and all her wacky disguises, this honestly shouldn't be a surprise. Hopefully, Nia can get that psychic stare down."
Booker is the younger sibling, but we've heard rumors that he's a bit quieter than his Uncle Cory.
Raven's partner-in-crime, Chelsea will be returning to the show. A divorcee herself, she and her son move in with Raven; we expect they'll be up to their old antics.
Levin, Chelsea's son, is expected to be a bit of an antagonist on the show with a bratty attitude.
While Eddie will be back on the show, Orlando Brown will not be a part of the cast. Instead, YouTube Star Alonzo Lerone will be playing the character. Brown says he is happy for Lerone but expects the fans to be disappointed. (Ouch!)
More details come out by the week, and while we don't know an exact premiere date, it's been said that Disney hopes to start production in early 2017.
We can't wait, but till then, here's the Raven version of those awkward Disney Channel commercial outtakes that have been going around on Twitter to hold you over.
