All politicians lie.
When it comes to voting for a particular candidate and picking a political party to identify with, one must be strongly aware of the fact that there is not one politician in America who will stand in a position of power and tell the complete truth. Although many candidates may bash the other for lying, who is to say either of them is telling the complete truth? Many politicians lie to prevent public hysteria or simply to make themselves appear better to voters. Or a strategy many utilize is to simply leave out bits and pieces of the truth and deny it later. Voting for any politician is simply a game of weeding out which candidate possesses the most sincerity and modesty.
Separation between Church and State.
Although it is plausible for many people to consider a religious background when choosing a candidate or party to support, many Americans forget that religion should not integrate within politics (hence the Establishment Clause). Not only does it often cause public uproar due to religious differences but also, Americans forget that America was meant to be a place of religious freedom, not of religious oppression.
Voting is essential to maintaining a content democracy.
Many people are guilty of complaining about legislation but fail to do anything to make a difference. Voting may seem like a small, non-monumental act, but it is a vote. Every single vote counts. Political candidates would not take the time attempting to appeal to minority voters if it were not the case. Occasionally during an election, one vote may be the landslide vote, which may be the turning point of an election.
No one political ideal is supreme over the other.
It is perfectly OK to strongly identify with Republican, Liberal or Democratic ideal, but trying to force these ideals upon other people is not the way politics are meant to be.
Politics are about power.
Many politicians run for a position of power because it is human nature to desire to be at the top of the pyramid. At the end of the day, it all comes out to who has the most say so and the largest area of supreme jurisdiction.
