Glory Years

High School is going to end one day, and that's something you'll have to deal with; but you should let yourself live a little while you're there.

As you go through high school, you change in dramatic ways. You start developing a "sense of humor," but later find out it probably annoyed even your best of friends. You go through relationships like they are the tissues you use after they break up with you. Losing friends, finding yourself, learning to be semi independent, these are all things which occur during your high school years. You learn lots and leave lots behind. The feeling of breaking down is constant, but you almost always find the mental strength to continue. The best people sometimes turn out to be the worst, and many people stab you in the back. The highs and the lows are prominent, which make the in-betweens seem jaded. In the end though, you look back at what you have experienced and think of this amazing roller coaster as a glimmering memory. High school is the best and worst thing that you're going to experience. It's all about how you perceive it. So to everyone who feels like high school is a waste of time and it will never be anything but the past, it can be the worst time of your entire life, or it can be a spectacular time where you loose and gain, give and take, see and be seen! Go out and live your life while you're still young! Walking around downtown with your friends may just seem like something you do when you're all bored, but one day, you'll be begging for that luxurious downtown time. Let yourself be free; put off those study cards for a few hours, put off that stressful conversation you need to have, and lat your hair fly through the wind as you blare the radio full blast with the windows down. Don't let yourself have a care in the world, and just be free.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
