Why Everyone Should See 'Fantastic Beasts'
Coming Soon

This weekend I went to my local movie theater to see the new movie 'Fantastic Beasts' with a couple of my friends. I was kind of skeptical because I am a huge Harry Potter fan, so my expectations were extremely high when going into the theater. Thankfully, every expectation I had was met and more. Fantastic Beasts was one of the best movies I have ever seen and fit perfectly into the "wizarding" world theme. I am going to do my best not to be a spoiler alert, but the basis of the movie is around these magical creature. If you love animals then this is definitely the movie for you because it teaches us the important life lesson that animals are not always dangerous, and in fact we as humans are their biggest threat. Basically this movie made we want to go vegan and adopt every animal I could possibly have and become Noah's Ark.

I think this movie fits perfectly into the series that we know in love. There are many little things that happen in the movie that any Harry Potter fan would recognize and be able to pull connections to. Of course I am not going to be the one who ruins the best surprises in the film, but be on the look out. I found this movie to have such a great sense of humor and thought it was a perfect way to start a new series. I am also a tremendous fan of the cast because I am in love with Eddie Redmayne and his dorky, shy characteristics. I was completely blown away when I saw that Ezra Miller played the character Creedence in the movie. If you do not know who Ezra Miller is or Eddie Redmayne then you really need to catch up on your movie watching because they are both phenomenal.

If you have not seen any Harry Potter movies, then first of all what have you been doing with your life? Secondly, how do even watch tv and when it is Harry Potter weekend and STILL not have seen any of the movies? Harry Potter is something you have to religiously watch a be into, so I can understand why some choose not to, but if you wanted to see Fantastic Beasts but are scared you will be lost the entire time, fear not. Even though Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter go hand in hand, there are enough differences for this to be it's own, new series. A good comparison for this would be the new Star Wars movie. I have literally maybe watched one of the original Star Wars, so when I went to see the new one that was released in 2015 I was scared I would be completely lost. Thankfully, I was not. Even though the new Star Wars movie went more with the theme of the previous Star Wars films, I found it quite easy to catch on because it was like starting a new generation for the Star Wars movies.

Overall, if you know who Harry Potter is (the boy who lived of course) and if you know what Hogwarts is (the best school of magic to ever exist) then you will be fine. Get out there and see Fantastic Beasts. It is the perfect family movie, date night movie, going to the movies alone movie, etc. Your mind will definitely be blown away by the wizardry and plot twists, and you will not regret it.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
