There's a song "Start Over" that will make you rethink your actions and what you're doing with your spiritual life. Listen to it, and you'll know what I'm talking about.

It starts by saying

Everybody's got a blank page, a story to write.

We do. Everybody has a blank page, a canvas ready for a beautiful picture. We have a story that we should tell or write, and that story is our testimony.

1. Understand that everything you go through is part of the picture and the story.

Everybody goes through something that hurts them, strengthens them, and teaches them. We might hurt, but we also have to understand that there's a lesson behind it.

You can carry the past on your shoulders or you can start over.

2. If you're like me, you carry the past with you EVERYWHERE, like it's part of your life.

You can try and start over, but if you're still carrying the past, you won't truly be rest for the future.

Honestly, I tell myself that I'm truly ready to start over, but if something happens, I run back dwelling on the past.

Jesus, He gave it all to Save you
He carried the Cross on His shoulders
So you can start over.

3. When you feel like giving up, the lyrics above should show you why you shouldn't.

Jesus carried the cross on his shoulders for me and for you. I know that none of us have barred the weight and pain like Jesus did.

Honestly, I've wanted to give up several times, but I had a friend remind me that Jesus carried that cross, so what am I going through that compares to what Jesus went through for me?

I know you think there is no hope, but that ain't true, Jesus Saves.

4. He saves. He will save us from whatever we are going through. You have to trust that.

Life gets hard. We feel like there is absolutely no hope for us, but there is. Pray to God. Just pray!

You can start over.

5. You can. You can pray for forgiveness, and you'll be wiped clean.

When you confess to God the sins you've made (even though he already knows what your sin is), he forgives you.
