What Every College Girl Needs To Hear
New York Magazine

College is hard to begin with, but being a girl in college is a struggle. College is a confusing time for girls because they have to focus on grades, sometimes a job, friends, and boys and most of all your future and what they are going to do after college. Every girl in college just needs a little motivation to make her accomplish everything that she wants to before she graduates. This motivation can come from anywhere, but most girls like to see or hear words of motivation coming from other people who can relate to them. So when college or life gets tough, read these mottos to help remind you that you can do anything you put your mind too.

1. It's okay to be the single friend in college.

The main goal of college is to graduate with a degree that you love, not to find the love of your life. By chance, if you do meet this person, then college becomes a little more stressful due to balancing school work and a significant other. But if you don't find the person of your life in college, it's okay. That just means that college boys are still too immature for you. Heck being the single friend means that when you go out, you don't have to worry about anyone else besides you. Single life is a stress-free life during college.

2. It's okay to cry in college.

"Crying doesn't mean you are weak, it means you have been strong for too long." College is tough man, classes are hard, stress is everywhere. So it's bound to happen that you will just reach the breaking point and just break down crying. Crying is actually healthy because it flushes bad bacteria out of your eyes. If you are in the library trying to finish an assignment and you feel tears, it's okay to cry because odds are, many other people are doing the same. So if you do cry, just think about everyone else in the same boat and how it's okay to cry. Just remember after you cry that you need to walk tall and proud to let you regain confidence.

3. It's okay to not look the best every day.

If you want to go to class in sweats after a long night of studying then go to class in your favorite pair of sweats. You owe it to yourself to dress the way that you want to dress. you don't have your parents in college to tell you what to do, or how to dress. College isn't like high school, no one will judge you for coming to class looking homeless or as if you are walking the runway. Everyone in your classes is paying to go to college and learn, not paying to see what outfits anyone wears to class.

4. It's okay to take a break and focus on you.

If you want to reward yourself to get a manicure and pedicure after a really hard exam, then go get your manicure and pedicure. College is stressful and nothing says relaxing than treating yourself. If you want a break from studying for a test, then sit on your bed with snacks and watch a good movie or Netflix. Just make sure not to get too deep into Netflix because it will make you not want to anything ever again. If you want to lay in bed and just chill all day then do it. It's your college life and you know what you need to make you happy and relaxed.

5. It's okay to not worry about other drama.

College brings a lot of drama between friends. "If it won't matter five years from now, don't spend more than five minutes upset about it." If your friends start a fight and drag you in it, think about if it will matter in five years from then, and if it doesn't then don't worry about it at all. You have enough to worry about in college than friends fighting over stupid things, so focus on what really matters in your life.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
